Trouble-Shooting My Oasys Headphone Jack...

Post by awatu »

Hi All—

My headphone jack seems to have a short as, for a time, I was able to jiggle it and it would work —Tonight it's being stubborn —Is this something I can trouble-shoot easily on my own —Or, should I just take it to my tech? —Thanks, guys. Much appreciated.

I'd suggest cleaning the contacts on the headphones' own jack and maybe also clean the inside of the O's headphone socket using a Cotton Bud / Q-Tip. Don't keep wiggling it too much that might actually loosen the headphone socket mounting. Check how those headphone behave with other equipment to check whether the headphones' own plug is at fault or the Oasys socket.

Hey There, Daz—

Thanks, so much, for your response —Sorry —wrong terminology —I meant my Oasys's headphone "socket" —My headphone "jack" is fine, as I've checked it with other equipment —I will try the cleaning of the O's socket w/a q-tip —If that doesn't do the trick I'll probably call my tech, as I don't want to mess things up —I just thought, if it were easy enough to get to the socket connection on the inside, I could see what's what from that perspective —Thanks, again, D...
