Can't connect Kaoss pro to editor

Post by Jerome D »

I have installed everything off of the Korg website regarding the Kaoss pro, and it's drivers.
I've uninstalled, and reinstalled them but i keep getting this error. Does anyone know how to fix this?

First, read the installation manual that comes with the USB-midi driver.
Then, follow it.

Installing the software doesn't install the driver.

Poor Instructions for Driver

Post by Voodoo22 »

I had the same problem as JD.. had to dig around to find the instructions, which weren't too specific.. finally it said to find the driver on my CD but mine didn't come with one. The Driver Setup doesn't install the driver, but it puts it on your hard drive.

What got it to work was the manual driver install, had to open Control Panel, find the Kaossilator Pro, then manually select the driver.. from there I had to navigate to the Korg Driver Setup installation folder to find it.

Not rocket science but pretty poor instructions and driver installer program!

Navigate to your start menu/programs and under KORG it will say INSTALL DRIVER. Select that and it will show all the KORG devices on your system that need a driver.

Most likely the Kaossilator would have shown up there and picking it would have done it more simply. Also note; switching USB ports requires a new install of the drivers for that particular USB port.

Thanks for the reply!

my bad I didn't see that before, I ran 'Configure Korg USB-MIDI Driver' first and must have missed that. In my case it worked after manually installing the driver, per the installation instructions.

I expected the installer to actually INSTALL the driver, rather than installing a program that has to be run to install the driver!!
