A thank you to OASYS Owners
No one has said this yet so I wanted to come here and personally thank all of you for you pioneering this wonderful workstation which has found its way into the Kronos. I am an opera singer full time and compose on the side, and I always wanted to have the power and integration of the OASYS but not the $$$ I felt justified my level of ability at composition. The Kronos brings this to my price point that I can justify and I look forward to beginning to learn this amazing instrument.
I hope you will come over the the Kronos forum section or that questions can be asked here as you have invaluable experience as far as tips, advice, and methods which I hope I can pick up in my quest to bring the music in my mind to life.

I guess the community here is one of which there are not many comparable on the web. If you followed the OASYS section, then you probably got already an idea of how supportive people here are. In 99,99% of the cases one gets excellent support in a very friendly and sometimes humorous way... and hey, I am a molecular scientist, I cannot give 100%
Of course I can only speak for myself, but as far as possible, I would be glad to answer your questions.

Your welcome. Good to know my hard earned money went to some good use....operaman wrote:No one has said this yet so I wanted to come here and personally thank all of you for you pioneering this wonderful workstation which has found its way into the Kronos. Hi Operaman -
Thank you so much for your positive words. As an OASYS user I'll be definitely keeping an eagle eye on the Kronos forum (and hope to own one too!).
But you touch on something dear to my heart - the importance of openness and sharing - especially of expertise; and I'll be deligthed to share any and all of my OASYS experience (and resources - sounds etc...) with Kronos users.
Your good will is very welcome - and it emphasises that the instrument is just that - an instrument - to other far more attributes - composing, and sharing music with colleagues and the audience.
Wishing you the best with your Opera career and with your composing. See you over on the Kronos forums !!
Kevin.

Hi,
welcome and thank you for your words.
As stated above ask any questions and you will find friendly users and esp moderators who will help you. As long as the synth engines of Kronos and Oasys are similar despite the piano and epiano module you´ll get a lot of support from the OASYANS.
best regards

Welcome Mr. Opera!
I'm curious: how come an operasinger owns so many synths? In my head operasingers are pictured as people having most likely a real piano, perhaps a keyboard ... but it's quite a surprise to meet someone here with such a collection of electronical instruments. Forgive me my prejudices ...

I love opera but I dabble with Electronica. As a synthesist/composer I am a hobbyist. I am the real deal as an opera singer however...

On that picture, is it your guts coming out of you, or are you just pouring your soul out?
It is from Werther at the end of the opera. I have shot myself and am getting up with my last strength there. Those are bloody rags that Charlotte (the woman I love and shot myself over) put on me to stop the bleeding. Hey Charlie, I need to get stuff better translated. The problem is that here in Thuringia (Erfurt) it is hard to find good bi-lingual Germans whose English is on par without their German. Feel free to pm me with the incorrect translations as I am redoing my entire website which will go live in March. I will get my guys on it ASAP.
EDiT: My wife did some of those translations (also an American), so that explains a lot. I need to get that fixed ASAP. Thanks for the heads up...

You're welcome. I can have a look at your translations once they are redone (if you want me to) - provided there are not too many pages. I used to help a Belgian comedian who translated his program into German. And I have my English lyrics always checked by native speakers too.operaman wrote: EDiT: My wife did some of those translations (also an American), so that explains a lot.
