NAME THAT KEYBOARD, ROUND 3!

Post by jojo »

Alright boys..

Pay attention to the keyboard they're using. Looks to me to be a Triton LE, but I could be wrong. It's not a minimoog, obviously, but damn... haha

Keys are visible at 3:23 but angled in such a way that the top face is not visible.

Yes, looks like the Z1, distinctive knobs, curved top, protruding keys.

The Z1 has a superb virtual analog engine for reproducing minimoog patches, while the LE...doesn't.

I was like "No way an LE could ever pull that off. Those are some big britches to fill."

Yeah, Tritons and Z1 are... vastly different to say the least, at least without MOSS. With moss, it becomes much more fun and closer :-)

If you ever get the chance, buy it :-) It's one of the most fun keyboards to play with incredible potential to make sound. I play mine almost every day and just... smile :-)

Thats not a Z1...

Its a Triton LE..

The Z1 doesn't have a Joystick, and this synth only has 4 Knobs check out "4.28"

The Z1 is certainly a diamond of a synth...one of my fav all time synths

The angle of the shot made it look like the knobs were on the right, but on closer inspection, he's tweaking the knob with his left hand.

The patch itself sounds like a basic square+triangle wave, with portamento, which can be done on any Triton. Still, the Z1 is better for minimoog patches because of its VA engine and modulation matrix, but in this case it wouldn't matter.

OK, I was definitely wrong. Because of the angle of the shot, it looked like Z1, but I didn't notice the joystick thingy. To me, now - it looks like a Triton LE (no knobs on the right side). :-)

Aha! I was RIGHT the first time!

Excellent.

By the way, did anyone know that all but two of the Product Specialists at Korg were laid off awhile back? Even Kovarsky is being kept on in an "advisory" capacity. Man that really pisses me off to no end.
