It came out in Q4 2010. I was initially interested in buying it for my DSi XL, but I moved over to iPad2 and I've given up on the DS as being less useful hardware for music apps for my purposes. M01 is made by the same company that makes the iMS-20, so I'm holding out some hope that they'll add some sample-based synthesis to their future iPad products. The DS-10+ software is still pretty cool, but I much prefer iMS-20 and where that path is heading.

I like it, though my beef is the price tag. Its gotta alot of great sounds if your willing to work with it, there are guitar elements in a drum bank that go great with the guitar sounds and i like the patterns being able to expand to 64 steps. I wish there were more fx but as long as its got delay and reverb im usually satisfied, i miss my programmable synths but if your a musician you should have no issue pressing play at the same time on 2 nintendo ds to sync.
edit: did i forget to mention that its polyphonic as well?

This is all true. It was only released in japan, and importing it from play-asia or something is your best option, you might be able to get a used one off of ebay... Nope even ebay says full priceroblabs wrote:Yeah, you pretty much have to order online unless a store imports...unfortunately, this was never released in the US....why it never was really boggles my mind.My wife was in 3 game stores for me this morning.... no DS Cart, only the MS version.
Looks like I have to order online.....

Its really too bad how expensive it is. Granted, I probably would be about a $100 for a DS-10, because of how freakin awesome it is. The M1, based on your previous review you gave me, djcactus (http://korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/view ... hp?t=69319), seems great, too, but I'd really like to test drive it first, before anything. Its just very hard to warrant buying that right now because I have my eyes on an Arturia Minibrute and possibly grabbing an ESX1, too.
i generally do alot of dance sets featuring my hand held combo, so it was a must buy for me. Personally the ds-10 is better in my opinion, but they go really really well together.roblabs wrote:Its really too bad how expensive it is. I just got my monotron delay which has been a cool addition so far. From here on out though its all expanding on my computer and maybe a workstation, ive been eying the kronos for a while now.

I sent an email (to Detune) with that question about a year ago; of course, they never replied.Hugo wrote:Anyone know if they plan on doing an iPad version?
Play asia hasn't carried it for awhile. The ones on ebay generally seem to be new copies. The price on those has gone up in recent months.djcactus wrote:...

If anybody plans to buy a Nintendo DS specifically for the DS-10+ or M01, I would highly recommend avoiding the DS lite or earlier models and sticking with the DSi or DSi XL models because the audio output was significantly improved on the newer models, particularly the low end bass output. The DS-10+ software also requires the DSi or newer to run the Dual DS-10 mode, which is the main benefit of the (Plus) software.
