Forum Posts nearing 50,000

Post by JPROBERTLA »

I am new to this kind of forum, as this is the first one I have followed and posted on. I noticed how close this forum is to 50,000 posts - considering the number of posts on the rest of the Korg forums, this seems like a lot over a short period of time. To me this as a good sign for Korg, Kronos and Kronos owners; a lot of interrest and comunication.

That said, I wish that more posts were about sharing information about the Kronos' capabilities; maybe that trend will start soon.

A while back we cut away over 250,000 posts from the forum database as our HOST was very happy with the amount of CPU usage people were using searching that database.

KRONOS section is the only part of the forum with a true post count. The other area’s are down by quarter of a million posts combined. We won't have to do that every again though now that KORG is paying for the server we are using.

Yes....

49,000 of these posts are from "Suspect" newbies with an agenda to complain or bring down Korgs name about their dead or faulty Kronos Machine.

probably explains why "Insert your other Japanese synth brand" clan Forums are so quiet, since theres not much going on why not come and register over here and cause a storm! 8-[

Yes, it is a brilliant forum. I think the Kronos unites many a keyboardist of differing levels and lovers of different types of music. Its a deserved compliment to the Korg Kronos and especially to Sharp and the moderators.

The complaints and the genuine concerns are part of life. So is keeping things in perspective.

I try and turn the other cheek to the obvious 'trolls and haters etc . Now I try and laugh at the various forms of human nature. Lifes short.

I'd hate to see how many posts you would cut away if your host was unhappy :)

Sharp, if you re-read your original post, I think you will see Ojustaboo was having a laugh at your expense - "as our HOST was very happy"...

Sharp,

You said, "...while back we cut away over 250,000 posts from the forum database as our HOST was very happy."

We're all assuming that was a typo and you meant to say "as our HOST was very unhappy."

That's what prompted the joke... if you cut 250,000 posts when the HOST is happy, boy howdy what would you have to do if they were unhappy?
