Switch programs with footswitch on Radias

Post by picur8572 »

Hi!

In the next 1-2 years I'd like to get a hardware synth setup, including a Radias-R. I'd use an M-Audio Axiom 61 as a master keyboard to control the modules. I'd also like to cycle through the programs with using a footswitch. Now the problem comes. The Axiom has only 2 pedal ins, which I'd like to use for their default funcions, sustain and expression.

How can I add a third pedal? I was thinking about getting a cheap 2-octave keyboard (ESI Keycontrol 25 xt or Miditech Midistart Music 25) with sustain in and Midi out and connecting it to the Axiom's Midi in but would it work? Also, a serial midi connection like this wouldn't slow down patch changes too much anyway?

Radias already has one foot switch (on/off) and one pedal (variable) input.

Not sure if it can be set up for program up/down though.

Thanks for the answer!

I see that the Radias have pedal inputs but if I plug the 'patch changing' pedal into the Radias then how the other modules will get the "program change" message? I'd like to use the Axiom with a midi splitter, so the modules wouldn't be connected with each other.
