New Classical Nylon Guitar Sample Library
I haven't seen this and wanted to make sure that everyone knew it was available. (this has been one of Kronos supposed "weak" areas... So maybe this library will help make it stronger.

So...
I couldn't resist--I snagged this set today. Haven't gone into too much depth yet with it, but initial impressions are pretty good. Certainly nothing revolutionary here; very smooth nylon/classical guitar sounds, with a few variations here and there. Does allow note bends, muted strums, fret noises, percussive fx's, and harmonics. I was hoping for a bit more, but for $50 not bad, certainly a nice addition and, I would say, improvement to the Kronos' stock acoustic/nylon guitars.
All in all I would say this set is a solid, economical option for anyone wanting just a little more depth/expression for their classical guitar desires.
(Hope to post some new songs with these sounds soon, if the Muse permits)

interested review. i was thinking about going on ahead and purchasing it as well before steam picks up and he ups the price... I was wondering what someone would say about the sound and playability of the guitars... vs what is already in the Kronos.GooseK87 wrote:So...

is it more or less of an improvement of the k sounds guitars over the Kronos than say... the k sounds piano or organ vs the kronos piano and organ?

So I don't have any of this company's other sounds, I only have these nylon classical sounds. But comparing the K-Sounds Classical Nylon Guitar programs and combi's to the Kronos' factory acoustic/nylon guitars, I would say that the K-Sounds are a slight improvement, in the sense that the K-Sounds seem to have a bit more realism and depth to them. The K-Sounds are very smooth, almost warm in tone, whereas I tend to find the Kronos' factory nylon guitars somewhat brittle, almost cold. Again, these are only nylon guitars, so no steel-string acoustics here. But for $50, I would say the K-Sounds provide a slightly superior playability/realism than the Kronos' factory sounds.
That's my 2 cents.

Based on the demos I thought they sounded significantly better than the Kronos sounds. I still plan on ordering them.

See, for me the K sounds piano for Kronos would be a waste because of how good the pianos on the Kronos already are....also the organs fall in the same boat. Just too much there under the hood to justify spending that kinda money for the k sounds piano and organ....the acoustic guitar though is a different situation.ahutnick wrote:I have the K-Sounds Signature Piano and I really like it and I don't use the German Piano much anymore after getting that one. Looks like I'll be getting the Nylon Guitar from K-Sounds soon.

I guess it depends which kind of organ we're talking about. The typical screaming B3 is very lacking in the Kronos if you ask me. The distortion isn't very convincing for my own use. IMHO, of course.apex wrote:....also the organs fall in the same boat. If I could make it sound like this, somehow, I'd be a happy camper.

So I just thought I'd post this little demo-ish piece using the K-Sounds Classical Nylon Guitar sample set:
Morning Rain:
http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=188584
It's very simple, but I thought it might show what an amateur can do with these sounds, which I find very playable.
(The ocean/tide sweep sound is actually one of Qui's free sounds from his first set, fyi)
Hope you enjoy,
~Goose.
