KP3 Will NOT turn on (and have tried another kp3 power adap)

Post by XZIT »

Hello people! I'm new here, I've been using Korg products for years.
I've been very happy with them.
Anyhow to cut to the chase--my Kaoss Pad 3 will NOT turn on.
I have tried my friends Kaoss Pad 3's power adapter as well to see if it is a power adapter fault-no success.
The KP3 was working perfectly fine-I had it in a studio for a while where I didn't use it for sometime till I moved studios, then it would not turn on.
No problems or anything with the unit before that.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? I have considered contacting korg-yet I know a fix will likely cost $100+ or so.

Thank you so much for any responses. Greatly appreciated! :)

Hi XZIT,

have you some knowledg about electronics or do you have a multimeter?
I can give you the KP3 schematics and some help to find what the problem is.

Hi again,

please check if there are 12V on IC15 between pin 1 and 2.
Then check pin 2 and 3 there should be 10V.
Next C12 there should be 5V between both pins...
Post your results :)
