Why can't I record audio using Kaossillator Pro +?
I know that this has to be a simple fix, but I've been looking here on the Forums as well as watching videos not able to find the answer. I recently purchased the Kaossillator Pro + and bought the 1/4"/rca in and out cables too. I was hoping to record onto an audio track in Pro Tools using this hardware. The Kaossillator shows up in the midi/audio setup for Pro Tools. When I try to record from the Kaossillator I get no audio in an enabled audio track. I have the rca left and right cables going from the out to the out of my Focusrite Scarlett audio interface which is also fairly new. There are no line ins on the Scarlett just line out. I was wondering if this is the problem. Not sure what the issue is, but clearly the software isn't seeing the Kaossillator. I also tried to record into Ableton Live, but had the same problem. I really hope someone can help me because I'm at a loss. Thanks so much for anyone who can help! Lucinda

Why I can't hear audio using Kaossillator Pro
Thanks so much for your reply! I did this last night when I realized that the imputs were not only for midi, but for line in too. I had just been using the line outs in the back of the unit and hadn't familiarized myself with the line ins. As you can see I'm a sort of newbie. Thanks again! all works perfectly.
Now I need to learn how to play my keyboards/controllers with this unit.

Before you start pulling your hair out over using the Kpro with other gear I just wanted to give you a heads up. The KPro works ok as a controller playing an external synth but not so much the other way around. The KPro does not respond to incoming note-on messages so you cant play it from an external controller. The KPro uses midi cc to trigger notes. Check out the Kpro manual for info about midi support.

Thanks for that Bald Eagle, but can't I play and record together with a keyboard and the Kpro? say an audio track that combines both?

Recording without problems--audio
Hi Again,
Thanks for the update. I read that I could. If you get a chance perhaps you could let me know how I should connect the cables from the Kao to the scarlett, or to the keyboard? not sure. Thanks again so much for your help!

If you have the Scarlet 6i6 you could connect both directly to the scarlet. However if you have the 2i2 then you only have 2 input channels available. In that case one possible solution would be to connect the keyboard outs to the KPro line inputs. Then the Kpro to the Scarlet.
Most Kpro programs send the line input directly to the outputs. Note that there are some KPro programs that do modify the input signal.
On the other hand, if your keyboard has audio inputs then you could go Kpro => Keyboard => Scarlet. That would be a good choice if the keyboard had mixing capabilities but you didn't say what keyboard you have so I don't know about this.

I usually just line in my micro korg by going rca to 1/4 cable. rca end into the line in on kpro and the 1/4 goes to the mono output on the microkorg(or anything else). then when i want to record you just live record. set a beat or whatever on the kpro(i do this as a super basic beat so i can catch the timing of the loop) then hit record on another bank and wait for it to get to the 1 and start playing all the way to the 8 or 16. then stop playing and hit record again to stop recording. you can't sych record off the line in, only live record. if you dont understand this i can make a quick video.
EDIT:whoops, i thought you mean live, not through a DAW. I can't help you out with that one.
