Behringer FCV100 with Korg Kronos - How to make it work?

Post by japferax »

Hey all,

I've just tried connecting my Behringer FCV100 Volume/Expression Pedal to my Korg Kronos. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to make it work.

I've connected the Pedal to the "Assignable Pedal" slot and changed the settings under "Global-->Foot Pedal Assign-->Expression".
Neither the Master Volume nor the Expression setting dös work for the Behringer FCV100. I'm frustrated javascript:emoticon(':?') ...can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot!

Kronos settings seem fine.

Quick look on the website suggests you need to use output 2 in CV mode. Don't know whether you need a stereo/balanced jack cable - probably do...

(And make sure the battery's good, too)

The battery is fully charged, CV is turned on, nothing works even if I connect a stereo jack cable to Output 2....weird!

Which physical jack are you using? The "Pedal" or the "Switch" jack. I don't think the "Switch" jack supports a CV pedal. Try plugging it into the "Pedal" jack. I have the same pedal and you do not need a battery in it to use the CV function.

Hey,

I am using the Pedal jack, and yes, usually for the CV mode one does not need a battery, that's why I wasn't worrying about it at all. I just replaced the battery to be sure that this doesn't cause any problem.
I'm beginning to think that the Pedal itself is broken. I've once used it with my Motiv ES8, there it worked well. But I haven't used it for about 5 years, maybe that's the reason...dunno! Anyway, thanks a lot for your help!!!

Make sure you have a "known good" 1/4" TRS cable. Maybe even try it in audio mode to ensure all the internal components are good.

On the Oasys, the pedal jacks have assignable polarity which is adjusted in Global. I assume the Kronos has a similar setup. I don't have any idea what polarity would be for anything Beringer, but I know that when I use a Roland damper pedal it's the opposite polarity from Korg. That is probably the issue.

Yeah, I just checked the downloadable Kronos operating guide, and sure enough there is a polarity setting in Global just as I suspected.

I would highly recommend that you take the time to check your manual before asking the forum for help on simple items like that. It doesn't take that long. Checking the manual is your responsibility.

The expression pedal doesn't have any polarity setting. I would highly recommend that you take the time to read the original question before telling people off.

Yes, the OP is talking about the CV pedal jack, not the switch jack. [/i]
