kAOSS Pad with microphone help!

Hey everyone,

Thank you to anyone who can help me...So I am new to the kaoss pad and I having been getting all the kinks out but I cannot get the microphone to work.

I have a Shure beta 58, XLR Canon-plug cable and I have tried running it trough several different amps, stereos, sound boards..

When I talk into the mic the kaoss pad hardly picks up any sound, and when it does it plays back like static notes and you can never make out what the voice is saying. The peak light usually flickers from green to yellow to red.

Has anyone else had this problem? any suggestions? is it the hookup or is it that kp3 is broken?

I forgot to mention that my xlr cable is 25 ft. but it is unbalanced and ends with a TS point. I am not sure if the length may have something to do with....If anyone has any ideas it would be great.
