Kronos creating combi patches.

Post by kregali »

I am having difficulting creating combi patches. Went to an online tutorial in a step by step.

Selected an intitial combi user A bank; then hit program buttom to select the voice. Say anEP. The main pull down menue allows you to copy program and it puts it into the combo. It asks you which track. I selected track one.

my first combi using this method was successful. Now however, when I go throught the same sequence, to do another combi, the main menu will not allow me to copy a program in to say. User A 004.

Is there something wrong with the software.

As an alternative workaround, I stayed in the comb intia a004 and changed the first track from piano to what I desired. That worked. Help which is the best way and why doesn't the first method work any longer. What am I missing here. ? Help would be greatly appreciated becasue I am loading all my copy band song patches; spits into the Kronos.

I don't understand what you mean with "it won't allow me to copy another sound in". You're saying you're going to an empty/init combi and you use the drop down menu to select "opy from program"? Then what happens?

Sorry. to Clarify.

Select the Initial Comb bank. Then go hit the program key and select the appropraite voicing track say........Electric piano.

Then I want to add a second layer and or split. So I go again to select from the program list.....say Horns.

when I go to the main pull down menu, there is not a choice that says, Copy program.

Then you are not on the correct page. The available commands in the Menu Button change depending what page you are on. Likely you have changed pages to one of the other editing pages. Go back to the main PLAY screen and the command should be there.

"Combis" have "Timbres". "Sequences" have "Tracks".

There is something wrong with your workflow or I'm misunderstanding what you're explaining. Try this.

1. Choose an empty combi.
2. Switch to program mode and find a program you like.
3. Switch back to combi mode and use the drop-down menu to choose "copy from program". Your last selected program should be preset as choice. Tick the box "IFX - All used" and the KARMA and DT ones if you need them. It usually makes no sense to copy TFX and MFX to a combi, you'd probably be happier with a general reverb and such. You can set that up later.
4. Switch back to program mode and find another program you like.
5. Switch back to combi mode and use the drop-down menu again to choose "copy from program". Your last selected program will be preset again. Make sure to specify Timbre 2 (or 3 or 4 etc.) as destination!

Repeat as needed.

Just about every tab in Combi Mode has the Page Menu Command "Copy from Program".
