So You Wanna Be A Rock Star Wishlist

Post by Carbon Trader »

I'm through with waiting in line
For synths they'll never get in
It's like the bottom of the ninth
And I'm never gonna win
This life hasn't turned out
Quite the way I want it to be

(Tell me what you want)
I want a brand new 88 note-r
On an delivery lorry
And a memory I can play VSTs in
And a king size prog bank enough
For EXs plus HD

(So what you need?)
I'll need a sample bank that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a board stand in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet

(Been there, done that)
I want a new tour bus full of new Kroni
My own Star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Lord and
Rudess is fine for me

(So how you gonna do it?)
I'm gonna trade this Triton for Kronos and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus:]
'Cause we all just wanna hit big chords
And live in hilltop houses playing fifteen boards
The girls come easy and the multi-samples come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just don't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the keyboard stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair

Hey hey I wanna be a korgstar
Hey hey I wanna be a korgstar

I wanna be great like Rick without the cape
Hire eight girlie singers that love to be on tape
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free
(I'll have the KRS03 Nu Electro on the house)
I'm gonna play my board
With the greatest passion
Get a front door key to Emerson’s mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to
Tweak my Combis for me
(So how you gonna do it?)
I'm gonna trade this Triton for Kronos and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus]

And we'll groove out in the Karmic rooms
With the latest Voice Names and today's who's who
They'll get you rythmn with that evil smile
Everybody's got a new multi-sample on speed dial, well

Hey hey I wanna be a korgstar

I'm gonna play those songs
That offend the censors
Gonna get my thrills from a PCG dispenser

I'll get washed-up singers writing all my songs
Set List 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong

[Chorus]

Hey hey I wanna be a korgstar
Hey hey I wanna be a korgstar

Thanks, I liked it! :)

PS. I don't want to hijack the thread but I think here is a real "Korgstar" in a young band called Dirty Loops. He doesn't even need a fancy keyboard. An X50 is enough. Have you seen them already? Check these out (better covers than originals):

Just Dance (Lady GaGa cover)

The singing is quite impressive too.
And yes, the bassplayer is definitely cool.
