I was wondering what the average age of Kronos owners / owners to be, is.

I am guessing it is going to be middle aged' ish. I am 44

Why?

We have evolved as Korg has evolved and its only natural to buy the next incarnation.

because we can maybe afford the time and cost as the kids are older.

Because we are musicians firstly and todays technology allows us to do things we could only dream of when we were young musicians.

Younger musicians would prefer a midi controller and a computer monitor.

Dunno why. just thought it might be interesting.

Yes , makes sense. I just feel more comfortable with a keyboard only.

I think I might get used to a monitor when the Kronos Editor arrives.

Thanks for your input.

Your logic seems sound enough... but in reality I think its different. First, there's the kids with rich parents who will buy them a Kronos, so that alone will throw off your reasoning. Next, younger people don't have all the responsibilities tying them down (wife, kids, house, alimony, child support, etc) and CAN qualify for a loan. Lastly, for sound creation alone, this will definitely attract the younger crowd! The younger crowd has a starting point too... its just with more advanced equipment than the older crowd started out with. I don't think you're going to see many Kronos' on VH1 or MTV with older folks on the keys.

Very astute observation Laughing
But I was speaking in general, not about myself.

Interesting poll. I'm 36. I've played electric organ from 9 to 26. The past 10 years I haven't done anything with music. I really miss making music though and that's why I'm going to have a lot of fun once my Kronos arrives. Smile

Turned 25 2 days ago.. I have about 4 years experience with synths, but I've been playing piano since I was 7. Had lessons for about 13 years, but no time for that anymore now I've got bands Wink

Similar to me Yuma. Played a Hammond from aged 8 and played in groups until i was 21. First synth was an ARP Odyssey, then a Roland Juno 106, D10 and on it went. They sounded great, backed up with the Hammond.

Then I discovered Korg Workstations in my 30`s. T3, O1, Trinity Triton Studio. Due to work and family I didn't play much, but now with more time on my hands the Kronos has turned up and I cannot wait , just like you !

Good luck, hope it arrives soon for you Very Happy

I don't have a Kronos yet, but since I'm in the middle of a 'category' and I expect to have a Kronos within 4,5 years I already voted Smile
