Oasys died on me plz help?

Post by hencerage »

Hope anyone can help me with this problem I have with my Oasys

While sequencing the screen suddenly turned black. After powering up, on the touch screen it showed a computer with a loose power cable and a monitor with a loose power cable. After powering it on and off again the fan started to blow really loud. I turned it off again and now it won't start at all. I have placed a 1 gb memory upgrade last month but had no problems untill now. Could it be the power supply inside the Oasys or loose connection of some kind? Please help me with some advise.

Kind regards,

Hansraj

Maybe an idea to remove the 1 GB update if possible to check if that causes the problem?

 This must feel awful...

It could be the RAM upgrade - has happened before; it could be faulty and it causes the confusion.

There are other things to try in this thread if that doesn't work...

Good luck and hope you get it sorted soon.

I have read before on this forum that several people have had this issue in the past. Unfortunately the search function is not working on the forum at the moment it seems but I did manage to find some links via google, so see the links below.

Have you moved the O recently or do you move the touch screen up when using it and then put it back down when not in use. Possibly that could have loosened the cable connection.

But first I would try out what Michel suggests and try removing the RAM stick and pci card and then putting them back. Then check that the connnection to the screen isnt disconnected or loose. The connection to the screen is partly outside the Oasys case I believe, in that little box that sticks out of the back of the Oasys.

Also watch this youtube video just in case that helps, courtesy of Mike Conway :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CabF68okAwY

Perhaps someone else who has had this issue can tell you more. Hope you get it sorted.
