Question KORG KRONOS RAM!

Post by ozdaniel(AD) »

Recently, I am a happy user KORG KRONOS 61
My question is; Variants with 61 keys, has DDR3 RAM Laptop?

Mine it is!!! 8) I installed the extra 2GB, so I totally have 4GB(but 3Gb Available..off course)!
I looked at Sharp's tutorial(thanks to Sharp for tutorial) and to my surprise I saw that RAM is different!!!

Kronos X 61? Someone commented earlier on here that his X used a new motherboard with laptop style RAM.

This is the first I've heard of the "regular" Kronos using that. Though I suppose there's no real reason for them to have switched mobo together with product naming, since the real upgrade was the SSD and extra RAM.

Hmmm. New board for sure.
Pretty much the same spec though, even down to the SATA controller being type 2.

Regards
Sharp.

same chipset, same design.
Just the atom is slightly quicker,
1.8 Ghz vs 1.66 of the D510

So I could run 2 to 3 Kronos instances with my old Macmini with T7200@2.0GHz from 2007.

I will definitely try to build a superior workstation with some iPads as Displays and Controller that connect via USB and a Macmini at it´s heart. Software and Plugins will be distributed via Apples App Store. You will also be able to connect a HD Display and Mouse. A special housing will not be necessary and will limit costs.

well the difference is so slightly,
that there's no practical advantage, I guess.
Performance is strictly bounded to
other hardware components like chipset, SSD, shark board..
