I've created a utility called PCGrid, which gives you a quick overview of multiple PCG files at once.
The main window is organized as a grid: horizontally you can see the banks (I-A to U-GG), vertically you see the PCG file names.
Each cell contains a number which represents how many patches are filled in that bank in that file.
The idea is that you can use this PCGrid utility together with the excellent PCG Tools utility from michelkeijzers.
With PCGrid, you first get an overview of your current banks in files, and with PCG Tools you can then combine/compact/reorganize these PCG files.
Some of PCGrid's features:
- * Show in a grid the filled Program, Combi, Wave sequence and Drumkit banks for multiple files
* Browse all banks (view the patch names, view combi timbres, etc.)
* Search for patch names across all opened PCG files
* Compare any two banks to find differences/same patches
Notes:
- * Unlike PCG Tools, PCGrid is developed for Kronos only. It does NOT support the other Korg synth models.
* However I found that most features also work for Oasys, but not all. I've made the utility 'tolerate' Oasys files.
* PCGrid is available for Windows only, it requires .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile.
* There is no installer for PCGrid, it´s just the executable.
* It is known to run on Windows XP SP3, and on Windows 7.
* Possibly you need to unblock the file on Windows 7 because of a security restriction.
* The program has some quircks, mentioned in the manual, but I think the workarounds are acceptable.
- * I do not plan to extend this PCGrid utility. Ever. It is finished the way it is now.
* I don't offer support. I hope PCGrid works for you, but I don't intend to actively keep inspecting the forums for questions. Sorry for that in advance.
