They are black for a very good reason. It looks good!

Brightly coloured knobs are just mad! Don't do it!!! It's like going out in an all black sports car, with blacked out windows and black shades on, and then stepping out with fluorescent orange shorts on. It just shouldn't be done...

If anyone is interested, I was involved in quite a lot of CE testing (European equivalent of UL testing) on electronics. Over voltage, of a normal occurrence level, is usually removed when you get through the transformer and down to the regulation on the circuit boards which holds the voltage to 5V ...

Oh, and the APC model we used also had mains filtering built in and protected against spikes, dips, etc.

Not used one on a keyboard, but at work we installed around 500 building management computers on APC UPS's. Very few problems, mainly batteries going after a few years. Only a handful developing genuine component failures. I would recommend APC, although you always have a chance of bad luck with any ...

Stephen,

That's the one magic tick box I was looking for. Just tested and perfect. Many, many thanks.

That's Jean Michel Jarre's Rendezvous IV sorted! Simple one octave up arpeggiator for the bottom half and straight notes for the top.

And can I just add, Karma really is awesome!!! Thanks.

I thought it would need a combi. I managed to set up a combi with the same program to timbre 1 and timbre 2 in combi mode, set up key zone for timbre 1 to the lower half, and key zone for timbre 2 to the upper zone, imported Karma against timbre 1 only, but it still appears to want to activate Karma ...

Newbie Karma Key Zone Question

Hopefully this isn't a really silly question although I do have a suspicion that there might be a really simple answer that I have missed in the manuals. I want to set Karma with an arpeggiator to the lower part of the keyboard and plain notes for the upper part. I have tried this in program mode ...

I relied heavily on these forums to make a decision on the best keyboard / synth / workstation to buy, having absolutely no idea what I was doing. I would like to thank everyone who posts and replies. Thanks to you all I now own what I feel is a truly inspirational magical music making box, and I ...

Thanks for the replies. I took the general feedback as use common sense and make sure it is well supported, but it is not all about the rubber feet. I kind of thought someone might say it needs supporting at points between X and Y, or that the rubber feet must all be supported, etc. I have put four ...

What To Put A Kronos On?

Finally got my new Kronos 2 88 unpacked, and have hit a quandary over what to put it on. I have a table that is not quite as long as the Kronos, and it is just short of the rubber feet underneath at each end. I understand this would be an issue with a rubber foot being in the middle, but also see ...

Scott,

If you have ordered one, they should have an estimated date for you.

Or does that mean you haven't ordered and paid for one back in November?

They are backed up on orders at the moment, so if you are waiting for them to be on the shelf, you will likely be waiting another month or so yet.

From Casio VL Tone 1 To Korg Kronos - Big Jump?

As of today I am the very proud owner of Korg Kronos 2 88. The last keyboard(sort of) I owned was a Casio VL Tone 1 in the early 80s. Ever since then I dreamed of owning and learning to play a keyboard, but one thing and another meant I never got around to it. I now finally have the funds to get a ...

Don't be so hard on PMT. I think they may have some priority on some quantity. That's where I got mine from. I guess Korg UK allows each dealer a set quantity based on their pre-orders? On the grounds of tearing myself away from it, you are going to be gutted, although not as gutted as me. I haven't ...

Just registered on here because as of today I am the proud owner of a Kronos 2 88. I thought you might like to know that some initial deliveries came into Korg UK yesterday, and mine was delivered to store today. It has been on order for a couple of months, and the store said the current delivery ...
