Thanks very much. That is indeed helpful. Any bit of clarification gets me closer to understanding the device a bit better. If I use the blank pattern file can I load it onto the device or does it only work from the SD card? Also wondering if it clears the samples? Hopefully they are still on the ...

I'm not sure what the official terminology is but think of it like this. Each of the 16 pads corresponds to a separate MIDI channel, and a single pattern contains up to four bars of sequenced music for each of the 16 channels. When you scroll through the presets, you are scrolling through patterns ...

Instead of sample assign it to audio in. Can't remember what it's called off the top my head but think it's Osc In, it'll be near the start of the sample list.

I don't think you can have a part mute/unmute itself at the end of a pattern. Pattern chaining two different patterns would be the only to do this AFAIK.

Did you set up one of your pads with an audio in oscillator? It's been a while since I done it but I believe you have to assign the audio in to one of your channels on the E2S via the audio in oscillator, then light up all the pads in the sequencer and tie all the steps together. And don't forget to ...

The midi channels on the E2 cannot be changed but they have been assigned channels 1-16. The first pad is channel 1, second page channel 2, etc.

So if you want to record a sequence to the first pad, just set up a midi track in your DAW with the output as E2 midi channel 1 and that should work.

This should work fine as I've done it myself. Are you trying to record the same midi sequence to four different pads on the electribe, or four different sequences to four different pads? When I done it, I set up midi tracks with the relevant sequences, then in the DAW I set the output of the 1st ...

Pattern chaining was added in the last update but this was a couple of years ago and there has been nothing since. I wouldn't hold your breath, I think Korg has turned its back on the E2.

No problem dude. Never used a Circuit but I know that many people like them. There was a big Electribe vs Circuit debate on here when it was first released. Maybe look for that thread if you're weighing both machines against each other as both have pros and cons.

Regarding the OSC pitch knob, the increments are not in semitones unfortunately. One of the guys in this forum worked out how many increments correspond to a semitone. Check out the description in his video for a complete list: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkoHdW70JzQ As an aside, if you're ...

Cool videos. Sounds like the guitar in the first vid is sampled. You could import a loop like that into the E2 sampler for sure but changing the pitch is tricky on these machines because they don't have time stretching, meaning that increasing the pitch will increase the tempo of the sample, and ...

Hey man, yes the electribe can be used to create and play backing tracks. If you want to sequence some rhythm guitar you will need the sampler version of the electribe. You can then add your guitar loops to the SD card as wav file and import the wavs into the electribe as samples. Lots of fun once ...

The E2 is not a sampler, therefore you cannot record/sample into it. There is a line in port and oscillator because you can still run audio through the line in port and apply the E2 modulation and FX etc, you just can't sample it. The line in oscillator is actually one of the best features of these ...

If you're just looking to sequence other gear then I'd stick with the RM1X. The sequencer on that thing is still one of the best in the business and it pisses all over the electribe sequencer, there is no comparison.

Each pad on the new electribes corresponds to a different midi channel, so you can sequence up to 16 external devices I guess, though I have never done this so can't comment on how it works or answer your question on polyphony.
