So what do analog oscillators sound like? A square wave is a square wave no matter how it's made. If you see this video here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gLBpMyPM6I), you'll notice that the Moog Mother-32's saw and square waves aren't "perfect". The saw has a bit of a curve to the slope and ...

Figured I'd give a quick update on the progress. A few different players and a few badly written DVDs later, the Kronos is fully reinstalled and back up and running. The reinstall process wasn't entirely smooth, as the first dvd player I used reported it didn't get enough power when I plugged in ...

System cannot start due to a file system error
Hi folks, long time :) So my Kronos failed to start up yesterday with the error: System cannot start due to a file system error Please reinstall the system software (6) And the problem persists :( I don't have access to a USB-DVD drive (nor the original DVDs, though those are downloadable) So for ...

Yeah, I see the same thing when I connect the Kronos to my Focusrite Clarret 8pre and then into the MacBook. It is outside the audible spectrum* though and very low** so I just ignore it :) *) I have two peaks, one at ~15kHz and one at ~20kHz, and while cats and dogs might be annoyed at that, the ...

088: Hold Delay
I was playing around with sounds and effects last night and gave the Hold Delay a spin. One of many effects I hadn't really used before. It is basically a loop-pedal. And there went my evening :) In its default setting, it is set to auto-length (like a normal loop pedal) and records on JS+Y and ...

Actually, one fairly easy way to set this up is to set both patches, piano on track 1 and strings on track 2 to play on global midi channel 1. Then route the strings to a Stereo Limiter IFX, set to 100% wet and gain reduction set to -inf, so it completely disappears. Then set the AMS for dry/wet to ...

Hi, The vector joystick is always interpreted as starting at the center position when you enter a new combi, regardless of its physical position. (The same goes for the RT knobs and JS, btw). There is no way, to my knowledge to change this. What you can do though, is to edit the COMBI in question to ...

Yeah, my guess is that the while-playing switching of the song ends up not sending the note-off midi event, and thus the note sustains. But as I move to the COMBI, the song is implicitly stopped though, at which point, I'd expect it to be able to also send a song-wide note off across all channels ...

Hi GregC, The setlist consists of first a MIDI-only SEQ project followed by a few different COMBIs. No audio there at the moment. It is a good point that I could rely on an audio project instead. That would solve the stuck notes, and I might end up doing that if I can't get the switching down. But ...

Stuck notes after switching from SONG in setlist
Hi, As part of a song I'm playing, I've lined up a setlist to progress me through the song. The first is a 20-something bar, midi-only, SEQ intro. The second and onwards are plain COMBI and PROG. With the SONG selected in the SETLIST, I press play and at the end of the intro I hit my switch pedal to ...

How is the routing set up? My guess would be that the audio track is recording dry, while you are listening to Input 1 + IFX while playing. To bring the same effect to the recorded audio, route the audio track into that same IFX, so that record routing and playback routing is the same. If you want ...

I picked up a pair of ESI nEAR 05 some 15 years ago and I've been using those ever since. Nothing fancy, but they sound ok. When I got the Kronos a few years back I considered upgrading to something a bit more fashionable, but I've since concluded that a much bigger problem than the speakers is the ...

Muffled sound with bass end overwhelming the mids and highs. Same music sounds great on my iPad, headphones or studio monitors. So now i question Haraman Kardon bluetooth speakers and i question my ability to dial in a sound that can work well in mainstream listener arena. Yeah, I know this problem ...
