Oh, I see.
So does that mean the OASYS can read .fxb (VST preset format) or only SYSEX?

I was hoping someone else would chime in by now. I'd also try running with only the 1 gig of OEM ram and see how it does. I'd then swap out the OEM with the 1 stick of your own RAM and see how it does. And so I'd be testing each stick on its own to see if it works. If each stick works by itself, I'd ...

Far from an expert, but have you replaced that single RAM stick with another brand and it worked fine and that's how you knew it was the OEM ram stick? Or do you have 2 sticks in there now? I found this thread before when I was looking for sticks...and specs.. http://www.karma-lab.com/forum ...

OASYS and patches for the Plugins

And so I've loaded DX7 patches in Sysex format into the OASYS and accessed them using the MOD-7 engine. Can I do the same for the Polysix engine and the MS20? In other words, load Sysex patches.... I think those are the same plugs from the Korg Legacy collection. Does that mean the OASYS will load ...

Excellent advice. My (very) old PC was recently retired and had 3 sticks so I snagged them and we are now at 2 GBs. I also found the thread on here about adding the RAM with pictures. I'm not even sure where to start there is so much to learn and do.

Updating the OASYS software as a new user.....

So I just picked up an OASYS 76. The software says 1.01 mem 1GB and EXS1 and so..... Where is the resource that explains how to update the software? I have the giant Parameter Guide book and the Operation Guide, but neither has any details. Searching this forum led me to links about the Kronos...? I ...

DSI/LINN TEMPEST - the DREAM ELECTRIBE??? Good question. looking at the performance-oriented parts of the spec sheet... record a drumbeat in real-time, switch to another drumbeat and use the lit pads to record it using step programming, switch to another drumbeat and record tuned keyboard parts ...

It's probably a drivers issue again. You can't just install the driver on your computer, you have to install the EXACT version for your KORG product.
Unless you are installing and see the EXACT KORG device highlighted, it won't work.

I think that's what it is.

Let's look at your points. 1) the spark is tied to a computer all the time. It may as well not have hardware.... 2) it is a different kind of instrument and not really in the same category as an Electribe 3) Being tethered to a computer puts it in a different category, though. [/i] You've said the ...

Oh I got your point. "Where I was going with my post is that it is a different kind of instrument and not really in the same category as an Electribe, hence my opening statement "I'm not sure why the Spark is getting play on these boards" Maybe it's you that missed my point. Here it is again. My ...

http://createdigitalmusic.com/files/storiespre2k6/kontrolpad.jpg It gives you a control surface and rather than just robust drum/synth function of the Spark, you have the entirety of a virtual studio available. You sure? I haven't used Reason in a long time so I don't remember if it has full MIDI ...

It's functionality can be duplicated and surpassed by many different combinations of existing software and midi interfaces What functionality is surpassed? The allure is DEDICATED hardware for software. NI Maschine is the only other option. Why should KORG make ever have made an electribe? When its ...
