If Reason is receiving but not recording your tweaks, then the problem is with Reason, not your Electribe. Reason needs to be configured to record controller data.

If by "beats" you mean drum patterns, your best bet is to make them yourself. That's true no matter what instruments you use, and the EMX-1 definitely has the tools you need to create good beats.

Like you hinted, it really depends on what your personal needs are. They appear to be very different machines for very different purposes.

Yes, it works very well. You can record and play back all pattern data and pattern changes on the fly. Specific techniques depend on what DAW you want to use.

it probably used to be an EMX1 quiz. They needed a KP3 quiz, so they changed all the EMX1's to KP3's, but missed one.

If you just want to record it the way you hear it, there should be no need to record individual parts. I routinely record my EMX straight into my laptop, and it sounds fine. Your recordings sound like something is set wrong somewhere. Like Cyberheater said, check your input gain and other levels.

Those things usually get announced at the big trade shows, NAMM and Musikmesse. Musikmesse was just a month ago, and there was no announcement of a new Korg VA synth. So there's no reason to believe one is coming soon.

But on other hand, a 10 years old Novation Supernova costs more that brand new Radias... ...but less than a brand new Virus? Or more? All the TIs have the mid-range "FullSpeed" USB v2.0 chipset @ 12Mbps (Megabits per second), which is incidently the fastest that USB v1.1 can achieve. Hence the confusion.
