Re: KP3 sample question

it automatically starts sampling at the right time (that is, when the loop starts over). Is this correct? How does it work in practice? ossilator and pad are not midi synced (because ossilator has no midi in/out). if you simply manually set tempo to the same value on both then whenever you start ...

it is hard to map as kp3 send three ccs. x position, y position and if touchpad has been touched. last one often overrites correct mapping. maybe that's the issue (as far as i remember you have to close maping mode before taking off your finger from touch screen). launch kp3 editor, take a look ...

Let`s say I want to set up KP3 to control Auto Filter and I want the x/y pad control the Q and HZ of filter. So when I go from left to the right the HZ would go up and from top to bottom, the Q would go down? invert range if needed by right clicking in midi mapping mode in live. change also min/max ...

Does this mean that the effects are applied to all banks and the input at once? You can't have different types of effects for each bank and the input? Or some variation, such as half the banks dry and the other half plus input wet? nope. but it is great device anyway. most effecst are wet at the ...

shift-8 enables midi mode

then you can map A-D, 1-8, fx depth, fx release, hold, touchpad (x/y/touch) via midi mapping mode in ableton live

that would be ideal for you http://www.ploytec.com/34one/

but your "buddy" has no midi in. make dumb switch pedal and hardwire it to tap tempo on kp3 (every guy with soldering iron can help you with that).

or you can use some device that sum up two midi into one.

usb is only for midi control (including midi clock) and working with kp3 editor (changing configurations / moving samples back & forth)

effects are global, so you have 4 banks playing + input on one mixing bus then effects.

loading/saving samples from sd cards stops everyting.

Do you think I could program midiconverter better?!? i had "inputs" set from 0 to 7 as i have 8 position program change knob on my korg zero4, not endless encoder like on kaoss. i would start from keeping everything like you have right now and change "high input" from 7 to 127. that should do the ...

Re: Program/bpm knob

I tried many thing with midiconverter3 and nothing work. strange. then you should try some midi monitoring software to check out what is wrong and on which stage of routing. i forced my "program change" knob on my korg zero4 to work with midiconverter3/live with no problem. without described ...

jmdodge wrote:It doesn't matter if the tempo knob sends as pitch bend, you should still be able to map it to anything you want in ableton.
not true. it is interpreted as pitch bend. in fact it is program change. receiving program changes is not supported by live.

just one idea. i don't know if kp2 has such option, but kp3 can send or receive its midi clock via usb (or midi ports). please check your manual. then you don't have to use any hacks like described. any tempo change ("tempo change" not "program change") on kp3 (if it is set as master) will be ...

have you recreated midi routing shown on picture? zero4 (kp2 in your case) -> track 1 -> midi converter midi converter -> track 2 -> iac driver (midi yoke on pc) both set to "in" midi converter parameters has to be configured also similiar to that what is shown on picture the idea is to get zero4 ...
