Antony, would like to explore this more with you when my keyboard is available. Won't be until next week. Enjoy your vacation.
Best regards,
Ron

Re: Editing Workflow and File Structure Saving
Hi Antony, Sorry if my post if was confusing or worse, incorrect. I was just trying to make Phil aware that the file structure of the 5X is different than the 4X. The 4X stored music resources in Factory, User (Favorite) and Direct locations. The 5X file structure is different. Only Factory and User ...

Re: Editing Workflow and File Structure Saving
Hi Phil, The 5X does not recognize a "DIRECT" resources as did the 4X. The 5X has a single Songbook database file (SBD) that holds all Songbook data. The user does not have the option to create separate directories within the database. However, as you suggest, saving the Songbook after changes is ...

Re: Editing Workflow and File Structure Saving
Rocco -I know you asked to focus on SONGS but I just want to say that I think I have experienced the same issues with STYLES and their SONGBOOK entries. I am relatively new to the 5X but I've had a 4X for many years. Nonetheless, I decided the apparent issues were due to my inexperience with the 5X ...

Re: Chord Sequence Import
With the Pa4x and its Pa1000-like OS, things are a little different. With these instruments, a style can be recorded and saved with Quick Edit, including changing style elements, saved chord progressions, and changing keyboard sets. This leaves you with both hands free to play while playing, while ...

Re: Chord Sequence Import
Yes, it is possible. I've done it many times on both the 4X and now the 5X. I know others have done this as well. There should be some threads in the 4X forum. I usually create the desired chord sequence in BIAB and then export the chord sequence as a SMF. The SMF will contain only one track with ...

Re: Chord Sequence Import
Siebenhirter - once again thank you for your response. I am able to manipulate the chord sequence files (CSC's) of the 5X just as any PC file. I can copy them, move them from style to songbook and to external media - no issues. 4X CHSEQ's could be created in several ways. Also, they could be copied ...

Re: Chord Sequence Import
Siebenhirter and Anthony -- Thank you for your posts. So I am aware that I can export chord sequences created on the 5X. However, the file format (CSC) is not readable by anything I am familiar with. I've also tried exporting a style as a SMF thinking the chord sequence might be included but I'm don ...

Re: Chord Sequence Import
Thank you for your detailed comments. Respectfully, I think we are talking about two different things. I am concerned about not being able to import and export CSequences as SMF's as was possible with the 4X. The choices on the 5X are to play it in live, drive the chords in by MIDI or enter the ...

Re: chord sequencer
In the SONGDB.SBD file. LISTDB.SBL is the set lists.
You can have an SBD file under SONGBOOK without having an SBL file and you will still have CS's.

Re: My Kronos Sequencer Tips
Just saw this post for the first time. Ranks as one of the best posts I have ever seen. THANK YOU BlackForest for the reminder. Of course, I want to add my belated thanks to Seedy for getting this started in the first place. Also want to recognize the additional contributions from many of you. This ...

Re: Pa3X to Pa5X
Thanks for your reply Anthony. And again, thanks for putting together the 4X Resources for 5X. This package took care of a very large part of what I wanted to add to the 5X.
Best Regards,
Ron

Re: Pa3X to Pa5X
Anthony - thank you for creating the 4X resources for 5X. Very useful and saved me a lot of time. I assume this was done by creating a SET on the 4X and running it through the converter on the 5X. So, to be sure I understand you correctly, the only way to get legacy styles, i.e. pre 4X to work ...

Re: Song Name Not Shown
Found a work-around for this if anybody is interested. If the style of interest is not already the song name, save a copy and rename it as you wish. I usually just use the song name but sometimes I add the master transpose in the name to indicate it's for a specific vocalist. Now you just add the ...
