Anyone notice that restoring the factory patches does not restore the names of the patches? You can't tell just by using the mk, but when it is hooked up to a computer for use with the librarian software it becomes apparent. After restoring factory patches and using the Mac editor all the patches ...

The mac editor can be found here: http://korg.com/uploads/Download/microKORGMac1_0_1_633652906808890000.dmg In terms of tempo, if I understand you correct I think what you need to do is turn Edit Knob 2 to Arpeg A; then move the Cutoff/1 knob (which will now be tempo). The Arp will need to be on for ...

I figured, but wanted to ask just to verify. Your app along with snoize and the mK editor seems like the magic trio now that I have them all working. The only thing that I can't figure out is the Play function in snoize... this seems to neither send the patch back to my mK or let me audition a sound ...

I am just getting around to trying Daz's MS2000 software with my mK and it's awesome - many thanks. I have been having issues with the Korg mK Librarian software, but Daz's seems to work through my MAudio Firewire 410 just fine. Is there any functionality for backing up patches to sysex on the mac ...

I'm glad you got the midi side of things working. As Xmlguy stated - if you actually want to get the sounds from the microkorg recorded into ableton then that is a different thing. Some devices out there will do both for you, but read these forums carefully if you decide to get another audio ...

Open up the Live Preferences... Click on the MIDI tab... In the first channel (1) - make sure that both the input and output are set to the device name "USB TO MIDI DIN CABLE" or however this cable is being recognized. Next, drag an instance of Operator to your session window to test if midi is ...

What type of midi interface are you using with your PC?

You should have the midi cable plugged into the midi out of your microkorg, but where is the midi in end plugging into? Whatever device you are using to do this needs to be selected in the Ableton properties.

I have pretty much given up on trying to edit the MK's parameters on my Mac... I can't use the editor with my M Audio Firewire 410... It also does not work with the cheap-o solution of the M Audio Uno... Unless you want to order a midi solution that is specifically known to work with the MK and ...

I had the same device and had no luck getting it to work with the MK... if your M Audio Uno has an "8" in the third digit of the SN it is defective... See M Audio's site: http://forums.m-audio.com/announcement.php?f=10 Note: M-Audio has identified a defect in a manufacturing run of its popular ...

Interesting but true analysis from plosive. Unfortunately I feel like this is inevitable in making the boards more consumer friendly.

Kaosspad -> Kaossilator/miniKP -> (MS10 ->) DS-10

Where does KP3 fit in here? Exception to the rule?

I'm having a similar issue with the maudio firewire 410.. everything is set up right, setting on the mK are correct.. but when I try to send or receive programs they show up blank.

I'm going to see if I can track down a cheap usb/midi uno or something and see if it makes a difference.

You need either a USB or Firewire audio interface. If you only wish to trigger loops and other software synths you can purchase a midi only device.. something like the The E-MU Xmidi 1x1. If you want to record live audio from the microkorg onto your laptop you will need a device that has 1/4 inch ...

Also Midi and write protect is set correct on the mK but when I go to dump data (receive) on to my mac all the programs show up blank... The editing ...
