Thanks, yes I know this page, but - as far as I can find it - it does not say which Midi or Sysex command to enter when I want to force Kronos into Program Mode, Combi mode, Setlist mode, or Sequencer Mode That's what I am looking for With the final aim, that during a gig, I can change my settings ...

putting Kronos in Combi or Program mode with external device

Hi all I can't easily trace in the manuals or this forum how I can 'tell' the Kronos to go in Combi or Program mode, using an external DAW (in this case Cantabile) I manage to communicate Program Changes But which (Bank Select?) Midi messages would I need to send to Kronos to change mode between ...

One additional thing for drums: General Midi file drums are typically one octave different from the Kronos drum mapping. So when you play back a GM midi drum track with a Kronos drum kit, transpose +12. This can be done in the sequencer track settings. No need to transpose the notes in the midi file ...

You can perfectly do what you want on the Kronos I typically 'clean' the midi files before I use them on the Kronos on a Windows PC Sequencer (remove the tracks you don't want; I typically have drums at Midi Ch 10, and bass either at Midi Ch 9 or 2; remove the program and bank changes, remove ...

Re: Kronos 88 stand

Do you think this stand will work with a Kronos 88? It says it will carry 35 kilo but somehow it seems this construction will be not that stable. https://www.thomann.de/nl/km_18850_b_spider_keyboardstaender.htm I have the Spider Pro since 5 years for use with the Kronos88. I use also a second ...

Keep in mind that Kronos is not targeted to traditional stuff, but more to rock and modern stuff

You can always include your own bossa drumpattern, imported from a good midi file

there are a few; check the Voice Name List for locations: pattern 387-390 for example.

But if you search the VNL pdf, you'll trace also other, e.g. in karma as well

Have a try

check also the Kronos Parameter Guide around page 481 You need to set keyboard zones (Combi mode - MidiFilter/Zones - keyboardzones) and then set lower and upper key for each layer In Combi mode - Timbre parameters - Midi Channel, set all zones for your split to 'Gch' And don't forget to Save your ...

If you want, on the Kronos you can make a 16 voice split, assiging different programs to the 16 Combi timbres, all sending them to the midi channel you are playing, with 16 different keyzones defined I often have 4-5 in a single combi (for some individual sounds or triggering a sample or sample loop ...

If it is only combi's and programs, they are saved in the PCG, and will take only ~46 Mb

I usually make a backup on the Kronos itself also, and then copy those files to disk/USB. By that, you will also see the size of your backup

As for samples, it depends if you are saving only the links to samples, or the multisamples themselves. The sample links will not absorbe much space (but you might want to backup your sample libraries seperately anyway!) What adds up is also the Sequencer files (.SNG), especially if you have ...

You're welcome Although the Kronos is an incredible powerful machine, where I am still learning after 5.5 years of usage, and still happy playing and gigging with it, an improved and automatic "Load Required Samples" function would be useful. Or indeed this option as part of a PCGTools like software ...
