See my posts about getting the XL+ sound editor to talk with the XL = http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=77812 Mind you this has to do with the order in which the Korg Driver sits in your MIDI port (it needs to be under 10). I know this is a fix for Windows, but I belive the Korg ...

nboogie, see my other posts about this. It turns out that the Switch is only there to allow you to edit the Timbre, not play it independantly of anther timbre. From Korg Support: "This knob is just for editing and does not toggle between individual timbres of a program. " So there you have it. May ...

You need to get the Korg MIDI driver to show up somewhere between midi port 1 - 10. Uninstall those generic USB drivers AND the Korg driver from within that utility (make sure you have things like USB speakers, ipads/ipods, cameras removed from your computer; reinstall the Korg driver and it should ...

Thanks X. I had it confirmed on GS that this is how the Timbre Select switch is designed to work - at least I know the XL+ is behaving as intended. And at the end of the day, it's not as if the synth has multiple stereo outs, so this is not that big of a deal. Though "Timbre Select" is technically ...

You can load XL patches in to the XL+. When you open the XL+ editor there is an option called something like "import XL data" in the first or second drop down menu ( sorry on my phone and don't have software in front of me.). It will read the files as is... No need to change format. I have already ...

Does the [Timbre Select] Switch ONLY Allow Timbre Editing???
It has occurred to me that the "Timbre Select" switch on the front panel does not do what I hoped it would: namely, switch the keyboard from being able to play timbre 1 to timbre 2 in a multi program. What it seems to do is allow you edit timbre 2, but not actually play it directly from the ...

I just got an XL+ and have the same issue. Using the librarian I created two separate patches on two separate timbres; I assigned the MIDI channels separately (the MIDI global is the default for 1 per the manual; you can assign a separate channel for 2). I can hear the different patches when playing ...

This is great news. A nice thing about the Motif is the number of 3rd party sound designers that produce banks for it - Korg may not have as many 3rd party developers, but they are certainly home to one of the best. I really like what I have heard so far from your Oasys demos. Top notch! A question ...

Thanks Citizen Klaus! That helped to clarify a great deal. Shakil! I always love it when you post... you bring the goods! Thanks, as always, for taking the time to right that up: the IFX workflow makes a lot of sense and I can see that it certainly gives you TONS of options. 12 IFX + EQs is really ...

I would like to know more about this as well. Are they fixed MIDI patterns or do they respond to your playing in some fashion? If they are fixed patterns, can you trigger more than one per song? Can you alter the Drum Tracks in real time (ala Karma)? Can you convert a Drum Track to MIDI? Finally ...

FWIW, I *JUST* talked to my SW rep and he said the system shows 1st part of May for the KRONOS 88. Not sure if ALL KRONOS' are May, but the 88 is. I was also the 3rd person to pre-order so I'm assuming I'm in the first shipment. I better be anyway. ;) -Mc Cool... mine is a 61. Don't know where I am ...
