This is the reason why the Microsampler is no good. Sorry to sound so callous

My solution - use a laptop!
I've long since given up wrestling with the restrictions of the Microsampler.

Korg always pull it out of the bag for innovation and cool music gizmos (in a way that R and Y don't..) But at the end of the day, people wants synths! How many incarnations of the Monotron will we have to sit through before Korg release their inevitable first fully programmable analog synth in 30 ...

You are my hero!

It's possible - excellent.
I hope you will let me ask you more questions when I get my Padkontrol.
Thanks.

Microsampler with Padkontrol

It seems such an obvious pairing: Microsampler + Padkontrol , turn your Microsampler into an instant MPC with an X-Y pad! But I've never seen or touched a Padkontrol. Surely it'd be a nightmare to assign everything? (I never got my Korg NanoPad to successfully control the X-Y in Ableton). I wonder ...

One more time, a massive thanks to Griffin Avid for pointing out the key-shortcuts for editing. It makes everything easier and certainly makes a lot more sense that trying to scroll through those menus with those dials. I'm getting the hang of the MicroSampler now; particularly it's real time loop ...

Just out of interest, are you able to 'play' the Monotron in any recognizable way? I tried one last weekend in a store and it certainly has a special tone and filter but I wonder what practical purpose you could put it to? (Other than just FX of course). They're so cheap, I'll probably end up ...

Even though I don't find the sound to be the slightest bit impressive, I do like the promo video showing a guy playing the UltraNova live alongside a real drummer.

Mr Lloyd, Good review, I'm in agreement! I think that despite the confusing interface (which thanks to Griffin Avid will, I'm sure get easier with practise, not that it should have to) there's enough genuinely useful functionality to make the MicroSampler, in it's current instantiation, worth ...

The Bass Station was an excellent lightweight real-analogue mono-synth but after the dreadful A-Station and Xio, I'm not risking getting my fingers burned again by Novation.
Shame coz I would prefer to buy British.

MKXL + Ableton Live

I don't know anything about Arpeggiator automation but pretty soon we're planning to starting using a MicroKorg XL with Ableton Live. It's disappointing to hear that not everything works perfectly. Do you mind if I ask about how Ableton recognizes the hardware? Does it involve any complicated setup ...

Compared to MicroStation?

I see the MicroStation is still sufficiently new to not have a category of it's own on the Korg Forum.. I came across an inconspicuous MicroStation in my local Korg dealership and was pleasantly stunned.. Why does it sound so good!? Why does it have so many genuinely-useful EP sounds such as all 4 ...

Stretching time on the Microsampler

I don't know about other samplers but I know the Microsampler does similiar artifacts to Garageband on the Mac when you slow down time too much; that Matrix-style granulation.

I say we're just lucky to be able to alter BPM and pitch separately at all.
