88-Key model now almost totally sold out in the UK - we tried to order one last week to no avail.
A new version of the Kronos X released in time for Christmas seems more likely than a totally new pro workstation. Anyway, that's my speculation.

More editor woes

I'm now running a windows 7 laptop (64-bit) with the MK sound editor. My USB-MIDI interface is a roland/cakewalk UM-2G, which I've connected up to my microkorg. The editor installed fine, but when I open it and click on the "microkorg" in "my device", after about a minute of the "MIDI transferring ...

Much better - it splits things up - beforehand it was really just a huge list of forums which was easy to get lost in.

Considering it's £450 for the 61-key, that's a lot of keyboard for your money. It looks very nice from the top down as well, although i do think they could've been a bit more inventive with the name, I can imagine the designers at Korg thinking "it's like a Kronos, but with some of the features cut ...

Bear in mind that although the sub-phatty sounds very good it only has a 2-octave keyboard. The MS20 has more although they are slightly smaller. If you are going to be controlling them with something else that's no issue, but as you're on a budget, I would consider the keyboards themselves.

A thin pencil placed between the held-down key and under the lip of the other keys is another way of doing this without getting the keys sticky.

This is as close as you can get without using the arpeggiator, however it does fade away eventually.

It works best with speakers but will work with headphones as well. You can either use the included condenser mic or plug in a dynamic mic into audio in 1 and use that instead.

I've heard somewhere you can load MS2000 preset files onto the microkorg as well, or am I wrong?

I wouldn't be worried about the action going on your PX-330. I have a PX-300 which is 7 years old and has had near-daily use from me (I'm quite heavy handed). I've also tried the PX-330 and its build quality is comparable.

The synth engine in the original microkorg is the same as in the MS2000, without the sequencer. Therefore it should be easy to replicate MS2000 sounds on the microkorg.

I now have the urge to rush out and empty my bank account! :P That is one awesome piece of kit. Imagine if it went into full unison, that would be 8 oscillators, 4 voices... = 32 oscillators! That makes a memorymoog seem naff.

Exactly, we already have the Kronos at the top and the Krome underneath that. The KingKorg and MS20mini plug the huge gap left by the death of the radias. Nice to see more mid-range stuff being released.

It does seem a bit expensive, I was expecting something in the range of £500, as in terms of power, it's quite similar to the Roland Gaia, which doesn't go for much more than £500.
