Re: Its not a Kronos 2

The Oasys was probably ten years ahead of its time... Well.. Thats where we are now... As I understand it, the Oasys/Kronos architecture is actually 20 years old. See the Sound On Sound review of the Oasys, which gives a history of the project. It must be incredibly satisfying for the original ...

I don't think anyone has answered the OP's question. I received my K2 88 last night. Believe it or not, the auto-power-off actually flips the mechanical switch in back to the off position. Exactly as if you had turned it off manually.

I briefly owned a brand new KX 73 a few weeks ago, but it had a defective keybed, so I exchanged it for a K2 88. The fan in the KX 73 was quite loud. I mean, anyone in the room would notice it easily. It was kind of lowish-frequency and tolerable, but it was really obvious. Before I returned the KX ...

Is there a kid-safe mode?

Hi there. Just got my Kronos X 73 last night. Uh, it's pretty clear it will take me years to scratch the surface of this beast, if I may mix metaphors freely. I'm wondering if there's some way to put this thing into a "kid mode" where my kids can do pretty much everything they want -- press buttons ...

Thank you, p&c. That does help. I figured that kind of thing would be configurable so that you could do it all with pads. I guess I'll have to wait until the Kronos arrives at my door and then start playing with it.

Hi. Newbie here. I'm awaiting a Kronos to be shipped to me. I'm wondering if you guys could summarize the advantages of using KARMA for this instead of RPPR. In anticipation of my Kronos arriving, I've been watching some tutorial videos. I saw a tutorial of RPPR and it made me think you could use it ...

Is it possible to send a SysEx file (.syx) over the MIDI out

Newbie here. I have a Kronos X 73 on the way. I'm going to hook this Kronos up to my Nord Rack 2x, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to send SysEx (.syx) files containing Nord patches from the Kronos disk to the Nord over MIDI. The Kronos Parameter Guide has a section "Disk mode" with a sub-section ...

Ah, thanks for that reference. I didn't find the TX100 in my own research, so that was very useful!

Thanks. I was actually just looking at the S1000 when I checked the forum and saw your reply! If I end up getting that stand before you then I'll post my thoughts.

recommended stand?

Hi, I just ordered a Wavedrum Oriental. Can't wait to start playing! While I'm waiting for it to arrive, I'd like to get a snare stand for it. Can anyone recommend a good one? I'm not a percussionist, so I don't know much about percussion hardware. Ideally, the stand would be adjustable enough that ...
