PAS does have some crazy deals sometimes. I saw a Kronos 73 key, brand new, on sale for around $2400 last month, but it was only for a day.

I use it live in my band along with the R3 and M50. Sampled a few of my old softsynths (I used to play pure software) that I couldn't ever get quite right on my other keyboards. It's not really very great for that kind of stuff since it has no portamento/filters and the effects are pretty limited ...

I would suspect that is has to do with the R&D that goes into making the product, as well as the experience that Korg has with making synthesizers in general. When you're modeling circuits virtually, it helps to have the kind of engineering resources that I'm sure Korg has, as well as all of the ...

Sampling Instruments with ESX-1

Hey, I am thinking about investing in an ESX-1, and was wondering if someone could clarify something for me. Right now, I use a microSampler to play back a few of my old VSTi synths that I haven't been able to replicate. I basically just sampled each octave dry, and the microSampler has a feature ...

Probably right, I'd be better off going the ebay route.

Based on recent selling prices, I should be able to get about $2100 for all 4 pieces of gear listed, and the Kronos is going for around $2300 (hence my offer of trade + cash).

Just posted on the off chance that someone might be interested.

[SELL OR TRADE] M50, R3, MS1 and Roland AX-Synth

I'm trying to consolidate my rig and get a Korg Kronos for live use. Right now I have (all mint condition): Korg M50 Korg R3 Korg microSampler Roland AX-Synth Anyone with an unwanted Kronos 61-key that's willing to do some trading? I'd be willing to trade all four + some cash. PS: Also, what would ...

Question about R3 built-in demos

This might sound like a dumb question, but are the built-in demos in the R3 played in real time (from some kind of internal sequencer software), or are they just PCM? It sounds like there are more than two timbres in most of them, but I noticed the BPM syncs and the lights around the dial move like ...

I had the same dilemma recently, and decided to go with the R3. REALLY glad I did - it's awesome. Also, it was a great deal - $350 brand new after rebate!

Recreating patch from Monologue

I'm switching from a vst setup to a hardware setup for live shows, and I am trying to recreate this patch from Monologue (a bundled Cubase soft-synth) in my R3. I've never really tried to program my own patches before, and I'm learning a lot about the R3 in the process, but I just can't get it to ...

How to go from amatuer keyboardist to Pro?

I started playing keyboard in my band a few years ago out of necessity (I played bass, but our keyboardist moved away to join the military). I basically taught myself how to play, and tried to apply my limited existing music theory knowledge, and I've been able to get by. But I've really wanted to ...

My band used to cover What is Love by Haddaway, and I could *never* get any of the synths to sound 100% right. I'd love to get my hands on the synth bass, lead, and organ patches from that song.

Re: Kronos Set List feature, what is used out there?

What is commonly used out there by performers today when using computer and VST application for live performance and quick switching between sounds or sound groupings? Check out Brainspawn Forte 2 and Bloxpander. I've used both of them before and they are both great. Forte has been around longer ...
