It needs to go into the "Damper" input (even though you're using it as a sustain). And if mine is anything to go by (a Yamaha one), it only registers the pedal is connected after it's been pressed once. If you've got the wrong polarity set, it will still work _BUT_ will work in reverse (up = sustain ...

From what I can see:
MIDI IN only.
USB MIDI in and out.
Comes with the original user manual from 1978.

Actually - ignore that post.
Seems like unless you specify a program for a routing in Cantabile, it always sends a NULL program change event before sending the first note, regardless of whether you've set a program already...

I'm using my R3 with Cantabile live. Local is off, but the R3 midi gets routed back to it. So, I've set it up so it gets a program change when a song is loaded in Cantabile, and that all works fine - it selects the right program. BUT - when I play the first note, it always jumps to the very last ...
