It is likely MIDI “Active Sensing”. Most Korg and Roland keyboards have this enabled by default, although in some of the Rolands, you can disable it from the global menu. I have the same issue with my OASYS. The only way to keep the interface from lighting up with all the extraneous MIDI activity is ...

Thanks Mike. That was just the cockpit...here's the whole ship! http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag9/TauPico/IMG_1317_zps7c1a6d7a.jpg  Wow! Fan of the Roland sounds much?! I'm also a fellow user of the Oasys/Integra combo, and those are two (massive) sound sets that seem to blend and ...

Thanks to BOTH of you! I did get it ... Not sure if I'm going to brave the repair myself though!

Rehashing an old issue - Button repair (Attn: Akos Janca?)

Was reading through some old threads about the tactile buttons on the Oasys failing, and possible solutions. Forum member Akos Janca apparently successfully replaced his switches himself and created a PDF file documenting the procedure. However, it appears his site is under construction and the only ...

So, was it ever confirmed that the credits were transferable? I have the full $750, which I will not be using, since I have zero interest in buying a Kronos. I would definitely consider offering them up provided it's "legal" to do so, and it's worth my while. As much as I'd love to just hand 'em ...

I don't use digital connections very often, but I thought it wasn't enough to have them simply match clock rates? I always understood one had to be master and one had to be slave? Yes, you are correct. When using the Adat connection, OASYS is the master and the sound card is slave. When using the ...

Is your word clock cable hooked up? Exb-di doesn't work with word clock by default unless you've had the Adat board service by an authorized technician. Once the search function is back working, there's a whole thread about this particular topic. However, it works fine without using word clock, so ...

I had to laugh when I saw this statement over in the Kronos forum: It would have been nice to see Korg giving something back to its loyal customers and early adopters who have invested a lot of money in this product. They gave the M3 expanded sounds away, why cant they subsidise the Kronos?? It ...

Ouch! $249 for an EXs seems a little steep. I'm looking forward to the Austrian piano EXs, though, obviously we're all assuming it's a Bosendorfer, I'm certainly hoping it is! ... let's hope the "street price" may be a little lower. Just be patient. If history repeats, it'll either be given away ...

Korg is doing many things right: they are building a big ecosystem around the Kronos, giving it a realm of possibilities OASYS owners can only dream about! There, I fixed that for you. (Sorry couldn't resist. Now where's that "beating a dead horse" emoticon?) Cue a treasure trove of more ...

This too shall pass...

Yes, the griping on this forum can be overblown and annoying, but surely the calls to "shut it down" are quite the drastic reaction, no? The Oasys is still a complex instrument, and though the number of users will likely be a small percentage compared to the Kronos', the user forum will continue to ...

Another poll that's slanted towards only one kind of reply, which is designed only to reinforce the negative attitude of the OP. Here's another angle. I bought my O76 new and paid for all of the expansions too. And for several years, I have been using those additional sounds and sound engines on ...

BTW, my sliders look and feel like a hard plastic, not hard rubber like the knobs. Is this the case with yours? The Oasys sliders ARE hard plastic, with what appears to be a thin rubber coating to give them a "soft-touch" feel. Or at least they were. I gave them a bath in a mild solution to try to ...

Oh jeez. Now the knobs??? That's messed up. :( Can you post a pic? I've only removed the knob caps from the Oasys -- haven't tried washing them yet, so they don't look as bad as the slider from the earlier post -- but they all have a slight tackiness to them, same as the sliders. This should give ...
