I wondered how long it would take for the first non-answer. :(

You know, I get more real help about my Korg rigs from other forums than I've gotten here.

I won't bother you asshats any more. I love my Korg equipment; but this forum is a complete waste of my time.

Kontrol 49 / TR Rack programming question

I'm new to MIDI controllers, and I know the answer to my question is buried somewhere in the manuals; but I'm asking it anyway, in hopes that it is a simple answer. I don't have any issues getting the sliders/rotary encoders to do what I want with the FX, and have managed to get the Main Encoder to ...

Guess I wasn't all that clear... I understand the process involved in changing the patches being played. What I would like is a 'box' that provides: 1) MIDI In and Out ports 2) MIDI 'merge' so I can have a keyboard/controller connected ALL the time 3) A keypad to input bank and patch #'s, along with ...

They are not the same format, so unless you want to re-sample them, you're probably out of luck. The set of patches I have for my TR Rack has some converted M1 sounds; but they sound better on the M1 (and I still have it, so...).

... and yes, the bank/patch change controls on the MM6 do cause changes on the TR; but if you don't start in the same place, tracking the destinations becomes impossible. Surely someone has come up with a simple 'control box' that allows you to change banks (including program/combi switch) and enter ...

Perhaps an easy question - Controlling a TR Rack with an M1

My fellow Korgians, I have a TR Rack and an M1, and while I use the TR with my DAW with no issues I would like to be able to 'drive' the TR with my M1 (or my other keyboards) - including patch changes - without having to use that clumsy front panel. I've tried a few things, and here is what I've ...

Once again, great input Bill and I appreciate it. With a bit of looking I see that actually a TR Rack is going for only slightly more than an M3 Rack (and less than the M1R). I think that's what I'm going to do.

Great info, thanks Bill. Actually it looks like an M1-R is about double the price of an M3-R. I can get a TR rack for not much more than an M1-R, and I might just go that way instead - for something different. :)

I'll have to give this a bit more thought, thanks again for the input.

Patch/Sample compatibility?

Does anyone know for sure if M1 samples/patches can be used directly by a an M3 rack module?

Just looking to expand things a bit. :)

TIA

I'm adding new tunes pretty regularly at the moment. A mix of 'live' (non-MIDI) pieces and some newer pieces with a MIDI base topped by 'live' tracks.

Lemme know what you think! :)

New to the forum, not new to Korg

Hey all, just as a way of introduction I've been playing music all of my life (I'm 62 now). Classic training on piano for seven years starting at age 4, moving on through many years of trumpet, self-taught on drums with many years and several good rock bands playing percussion. Always came back to ...
