When I opened up my X61 to put in a second SSD, I replaced the button cell battery on the motherboard and the fan with a Nanoxia Deep Silence Fan 60mm 2000rpm Cooling fan, NDS60-2000. I had to extend the wiring harness that came with the fan.

I've been asking this guy to make Kronos covers, but he seems to have something against workstations: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... rdust.html
He makes gorgeous synth covers though

You're welcome. To be honest, I haven't started using samples yet myself, so I can't offer you any useful advice. I just happened to remember that sample pack from an advertisement when I read your post. I'm sure someone else can help you out though

I got my X 61 from B&H Photo as a scratch & dent for $1999 a year or two before the 2 came out. The only thing that was wrong with it was the shipping box had some damage. The keyboard itself didn't have a scratch on it. I also added an SSD and quiet fan. I'm happy with it except for the useless ...

I also got the 61 for the synth action, and would have bought a 73 key with synth action. I doubt I'll sell it to upgrade to a 73 if they release one though

The Pro 2 gets a lot of love on the gearslutz forum. I'd read the Pro 2 thread there if you're considering it. It's Dave Smith's favorite synth. I like the Sub 37 though. They're both great synths

I installed a Samsung 850 EVO - 120GB - 2.5-Inch SATA III drive in my Kronos X. I'm using it as my primary drive with no problems. I had a friend who's competent in Linux clone my OEM drive to this one. I reformatted the OEM drive to use as my second drive

This guy makes very nice covers for reasonable prices, but he hasn't added the Kronos yet. Maybe if Kronos owners who are on Gearslutz ask, he'll add the Kronos to his next batch. http://www.stardustcovers.com/ https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-electronic-music-production ...

It does seem reasonable to be able to use it without the magnifier. It was a real pain, and I haven't used the editor since for that reason. I was really looking forward to the new editor, but it's almost worthless to me. Superior Drummer 2.0 installers have the same problem.

Thanks for the help Greg. I'm sorry that didn't ask my questions very clearly. My problem is that I go through the programs in the user banks, and some of them don't make any sound. I'm referring to programs with names, not init slots. I'm not sure if it has always done this because I don't know if ...

Two easy questions

I'm sorry for the lame questions, but I'm having a hard time getting meaningful results with the search engine. 1) Are there programs with names (not init names) in the user banks that don't make any sound? I spent some time programming the snarling pig patch today to familiarize myself with the ...
