Kronos Sequencer and Set List Situation

Hi all, I ran into a snag today and I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else. I had a custom Set List saved on my Kronos that I setup for my church service. Last night, I was playing around with some ideas in the sequencer mode and I decided to load the factory demo songs that were in ...

I would say to go for the Kronos. Your computer setup seems very good. The iMac would be a step up, but the Kronos would be much more of an improvement on your hardware synth side. I too am in a praise band at church, and in the few weeks I've had my Kronos, I can truly say it's completely changed ...

I stumbled upon this demo on you tube. It has reminded me why I am more than happy to wait a little longer.

I would guess the Jupiter as well. The vibrato is too strong (I know it maybe fun to play with it like that but it's not realistic unless you're some kind of Kenny G of oboists) and it's too perfect. I assume you can pull back on the vibrato. Still it's a very good tone and it works. Here's a very ...

I then adjusted the velocities so that each note would stair step up from 1 to 127. I kept the volume and the expression the same. Conclusion: I could hear the change in velocity on EVERY note. That's how MIDI velocity works. The synth/sample engine increases amplitude with each increase in ...

Pal, Here's some screen shots from various libraries. http://wwww.purgatorycreek.com/downloads/lib1.jpg This is the full Vienna Symphonic Library Solo Strings I DVD ($940). You're looking at the solo violin staccato. See where it says 4 velocity layers? http://wwww.purgatorycreek.com/downloads/lib2 ...

Then, velocities. Numerically, velocity layers range from 0 (silent) to 127 (fff). Kontakt does a good job of showing these layers on one of its screens. The more velocity layers that a program offers, the better. Sidebar, the Kronos pianos has 8 (ish) velocity layers. I forget how many Ivory has ...

I haven't heard them and no one here in South Dakota has a Kronos for me to hear. So I hope some one here will help me out. Imo no one but yourself can say if the organ pipes included in the Kronos suit *your* tastes and *your* requirements. Btw, I don't expect a general purpose workstation or ...

Hi Dan (and all), The key to effective "realistic" orchestral playing from a sound source (keyboard, computer, etc.) other than the actual instrument, lies in so many areas. Obviously, the samples should be top quality, not garbage GM stuff. Kronos has top quality sound samples. That is always the ...

+1 This is a tired topic.. To use the term "vs" implies they compete in the same market place and they do not. Jupiter-80 and Kronos aren't really comparable keyboards, since J-80 is not a workstation at all. Ditto! Every keyboard model has its own character and caters to different musical needs ...
