That was my point to him. I haven't even mastered everything I can do with the K49 so there's no point for me to go out and buy new equipment. I'm comfortable with the software I use and it works for me. Really, I was just curious about if it could be done at all.

My brother just got an MPC and is trying to convince me to get one as well. I believe however that I can use the control pads in the same fashion as an MPC. Does anyone know if you can chop samples and use the pads as a drumkit the same way you can with an MPC?

Figured out my own issue, at least with the first problem. My underpowered laptop blew out my display. Had to take it to get fixed. Still can't assign drums though.

I'm having 2 issues with my Kontrol 49 if anyone can help me out, you're a god. First, when I turn on the machine, sometimes there's no display in any of the information windows, the colors are there but now words, I turn the contrast knobs but no dice.
