do the new sounds fall into the pre existing categories?
sure they do :)
ZOID wrote:The new sound/patches are more categorised like producer styled sounds in the bank select wich is OK but.... it would have been nice to have the same categorisatiaon as the rest of the factory banks.
:?
so they don't fall under the pre-existing categories in the touch screen section?

Is there an OS update planned so that the entire bank(older/newer soundset) is treated as the original factory bank?

ok, I'll explain

the sounds are placed in the banks pretty much the way the "producer.pcg" was organized...
this means that bank U-A starts with piano sounds only, then come all the organs, then all the strings and so on
but still - if you browse by category - they are all there in the right categories (pianos in keybords, trumpets in brass etc)..

the only problem is the sounds in user banks are displayed after the GM sounds, which is kinda annoying at some times ;)

It is treated like the original factory data. Load preload data from global mode will load them.

I love the new program set from V1.20. Great Job.
I'm already using them in some of my new combi's

Here's one example of a finished combi in that new combi set which uses the Asot Arp (one of my own programs which you can download in the karma lab forum) and some of the Korg v1.20 patches. All karma modules were programmed for this example. In this combi demo i've used 4 karma scenes (they are all different) and i switched the modules on and off with the 1-4 buttons. All sounds were triggered through the pads which i programmed with some nice chord progressions for that style.

It's a demo in the Trance Style with the new Korg sounds and this one was played live with that one combi (State of Trance QR) in one take (with some small mistakes).

Nice job Korg!

Many of the new Pianos are much better in a live situation, IMO, at least on my Roland SA-300. And there are some pretty skippy organs, too.

Thanks! =D>

Thank you THANK YOU

Allow me to pile on here - EXCELLENT NEW SOUNDS! jeezem! Thanks Korg! "Separate Ways" is a complete guilty pleasure. Journey tribute band anyone? : )

the M3 is my first Korg and I've barely scratched the surface.

For anyone that's having trouble loading the new sounds, start with an empty USB stick and FOLLOW the included instructions to the letter (run the update twice up front).

Here..I will complain!! Too Many Damn Piano Sounds!!!
Korg did the ol' "shotgun effect" to Piano sounds. That is ..they have added to the M3 every Piano sound heard from Neantherdal Man to 2020! Now the problem is "Which" one to choose!! decisions ..decisions,,,!!

Seriously, great job Korg..Fantastic! a great addition.. I personally like all the added "synth" sounds! Tons of Movie background..etc

Whats everyones favorites so far??
My favorite combis(but God they are all good!!) are
Android Dream Radias
And Rest..Radias
Myths From The Sky
She's Out There
Directors Pad
Inner Strength (dark)
Spacier Than You
