thumb up for the song, but you should let it a little more dry, the reverb is too much (or at least it seems too much on the terrible headphones I'm wearing...)

No, it's me :)
Since the last osam I've been playing but not recording much.
It's like starting again, what you imagine can be hard to reproduce.

Well done Simon,

it sounds a bit like a western soundtrack to me, perhaps because of those guitar chords. I went with the vibe until the end and want more, so will play it again :soundsgood

Everyone around seems to developing new skills (guitars, vocals) which reminds me that I always liked bass guitars lol!

Cheers Sewa,
I'm still learning, and enjoying the challenge of trying to play and record a new instrument.
It's only the 6th of the month and I have some ideas already :)
The previous osams were good, and this one is really alive too.
You're right, there are so many new developments, bring on that bass!

Hi Simon

This is such a great track for a western movie as others have said also. I was going to mention that it was a bit smudgy in the beginning, but that has been discussed already. Actually I thought you may have intended it to be the hero on horseback arriving in the cloud of dust or something...??
and I liked the way the dust cleared away... Well my imagination must have been running away with me.

The guitars sound great to me and hope you enjoy exploring new things. This OSAM is certainly inspiring many of us to do new things!

Hi Chordial,

Sorry I am late to the beans and hotdogs over the open fire under a saguaro, but I had to rest my horse - long trip :)

You got some good comments above. The chords and mix lend it to the Western scene.

One thing - the ending got cut off before the fade finished fading - just enough to notice, nothing extreme.

I hear you on songs taking their own path - I have stopped fighting it when I make tunes now. Plant the seed, water it and whatever happens .... happens.

Wow - what an OSAM month!

Cheers,

Thanks Art,
You're right of course :)
It's more freeform now, in my case expression over content.
I hope my stuff will improve over the year, but at the moment everyone's producing such good music.
Just wow, it is really so good.

Cool Simon.... The title of the song should be "Simon rides again". You are going to have to stick with guitars. They are driving this train.

I can't believed that you used the tempo map. The drums sound great. I really need to use them. I must confess it is part of the D1600 arsenal I have not used. I like that organ kick as well. I do wish I could hear the keys a little more...but the guitar are perfect. Very awesome!

I feel like I get to know you guys a little with each song.

Thanks JL,
I need good drums,
I've tried playing live on the keyboard, and found the tempo map after reading the manual.
I like the way you can put drum tracks together, and (to me), it sounds better than my previous approach.
I've found the D1600 drums to be good as a guide, but with a little processing they have come a lot more alive.
I'm not sure what the next step is, but I do like building patterns this way.
Cheers Simon :)
