Play Live and Jamming
Hey everyone,
I just bought a new TR-61 and im very happy with it. I use it for playing in a melodic death metal band so Im gonna primarily use it for jamming and live performing and I have a question about the TR. Since the music is pretty fast paced I dont have to time to switch the sounds with punching in the #s. So I was wondering if theres a way were I cant take like 10 sounds from Prog and save them so I only have to press 1 button to select that sound. If someone could tell me the easiest method of doing this Id be very appriciative.
Thanks
Yabs

I use mine for similar music. I just use a midi pedal like that used to select channels for guitar effects and use it to switch my patches. Use the write function on f8(?) and save them all in order for easy switching between them all. Keep in mind that the sounds you write over will be lost so try and find a section that you most likely will never use. Considering your style of music, I recommend a000-a010.
This is an ongoing discussion here, and Fatalmasterpiece has the right idea, except that I'm reluctant to mess with my patches.
Korg really need to add a USER section to the Triton series.
Welcome.

1. Make your own COMBIes and save them in a row, e.g. A040, A041, A042....
And then you can switch with inc/dec button, or even with a foot switch.
2. And then you can try also "10's HOLD" function (see TR Parameter Guide page 2).
Select Combi A040, and press [./HOLD] key until "10's Hold" is on, then it is locked as "04#", you just need to press one number key (0, 1, 2...) to select 040, 041, 042, ...

Yes they do!Stephen wrote:Korg really need to add a USER section to the Triton series.
This is one of my few gripes about the Triton series. It seems like such a simple thing but, if the engineers knew that you had to erase an existing combi to make a new one, then a User bank would have been a no brainer.
Also, having blanks banks would have been nice since one has to erase all the existing information like velocity, keyz, arp etc to start from scratch with thier own combi.
I use the TR61 in a metal band.
I use the same system i had in my previous band, where I arrange the order i need all the sounds into the sequencer in different songs, for each song i save this to a file on the memory card...
then you can just step through them using the inc/dec button.
unfortunately you can't use the pedal increment with this.... really think korg should address this
