I have recently loaded OS v2.01 and musical resources from the Korg website. Did have problems at first as I didnt realise about unzipping files (see my previous note).
I have followed instructions exactly and it seemed to have loaded ok. The screen has the new OS 2.01 picture on it. The first thing I noticed was the drawbars (do have the ninth one now) sound like a cross between an overdrive guitar and a stylophone. The OS updates seem to be there but I cant find the new Performances at all. The keyboard previously had OS 1.00 on it(Nov 2006). Are the new sounds sounds or performances? I have none that say 'DNC' and for example there are new nylon guitar sounds that should be on p20 but my guitar pages only go up to p19. The instructions say older performances have been moved to the SFX bank but there are none there. I cant find the new styles either.
Should I try reloading the OS and Musical resources again? Paul
OS v2.01 Drawbars sound wrong / can't find new performances.

Download the files again and make sure you are not using the OS and musical resources of the PA2X. You appear to have the PA800. Can you also include that in your signature so that we know exactly what keyboard you have in order to help.
First try reloading the musical resources and make sure you extract everything with winrar. Do the same for the OS if the MS alone is unsuccesful

Thanks to MrKorg for your reply. The keyboard is a PA800. I have reloaded both the OS and Musical Resources and its still the same. The files were unzipped in accordance with Rob Sherratts instructions to me on my posting from last week. I have definitely used the PA800 software.
The loading process goes exactly as it should. The touch panel panel shows the new software welcome page etc. All the new functions as listed in the OS release 2.0 document appear to be there except for the new sounds/performances and styles, and I have this awful drawbar sound.
Basically help still required! Paul

Hi Paul,
Try loading the OS in the stand alone backup, doing it this way?

Rob, thanks. Not sure sure what you mean by 'loading the OS in the stand alone backup' Do you mean following the procedure in the forum link you included? I do not have any user data on the PA800 at all as I have only had it a few weeks so what do I need to do? Have you any idea why the new sounds etc aren't there and why the drawbar sound is corrupted?thanks Paul

Hi Paul,
Yes I mean exactly as per instructions on the page I referred you to. Including doing the reset procedure etc.
A stand alone backup / stand alone image file is a 100% copy of a known working system. As far as I know that is what Korg provided with the combined OS and MR release.
Best regards,
Rob

SUCCESS! Thanks to Rob. I loaded the format file followed by the os/ res file following Robs instructions and its fixed everything. I've got all the OS v2.0 enhancements and my drawbars now are perfect. I'm really pleased and relieved its sorted. Thanks very much Rob, I'm one very happy Korg user! Cheers. Paul
