Kontrol49, similar issue
I have a similar problem, as well-- I just bought a Kontrol49, and it works fine with any other application, but will not communicate with the Editor/Librarian. I get a "midi timeout" error every time I try to transmit data. Any ideas?

Seems to be a common issue
Same problem here: Kontrol49 and MicroKontrol with Mac OS X Leopard on Intel. None of the editors work.
This poll about Kontrol49 is exactly about that: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=40765
Please KORG, it's your customers! Software updates can't be that big of an issue!

Hi,
Kontrol 49. Leopard 10.5.6.
K49 stopped to communicate with editor suddenly. But this is only smallest part of whole sh*t. I bought it as brand new and after 4 days of using twelve keys isn't working anymore. Also I'm not able to update firmware since OCTAVE UP button isn't working as well!

i have the same issue, however there is slightly different nuances. and dont expect help from this forum, people come, get their one shot and split and as far as I can see there is no moderation.
the issue you might be having is you cannot transmit scene data thru midi, you need to connect the usb cable and send that way.
the problem im having is my drivers seem to get "stuck". the editor librarian does not see the device, but I can trigger through the device in reason.
i move the device to another usb port and it is recognized, but there is an error during the installation and kaput. the librarian however, now has Padkontrol in the preferences (only midi berfore) but when i go to transmit the scene nothing.
is there a way to complete remove the drivers from the system? i tried reinstalling the new drivers from the site with no change in behavior. its not effecting the use of the device iun the software, but i cannot change the pad assignments now.
any help would be appreicated. im sure its a bug within the setup of the drivers, it seems the drivers need to be completely cleared out some how. reinstalling does not fix the issue and theres no utility to uninstall the drivers from the system

Connect your padKontrol, click on Start, go to the Korg listing and go to Korg USB-MIDI Driver Tools. You'll see an option that says "Install Korg USB-MIDI Device". Click that and follow the instructions. If you get a message about "This driver has not passed Windows Logo..." click "Continue Anyway". After that, relaunch your Editor and you should have padKONTROL 1 Port A as your MIDI IN and padKONTROL 1 CTRL as MIDI OUT.bilzbub wrote:i have the same issue, however there is slightly different nuances. and dont expect help from this forum, people come, get their one shot and split and as far as I can see there is no moderation.
