Guys,

Could you please post the PCG file for that patch?
Here is the direct link to the Combi made by Scrap (as I said in my previous message)

Why did you get rid from it?
He couldn't stand the Leslie sim.
Very funny.

It seems that the Leslie sim on the M50 is the same as the one in the Triton (based on the parameters in the documentation). To me, the Triton's sim sounded pretty good for a rompler. The M50s I've played don't sound very convincing, but it would be interesting to try tweaking the parameters to match the Triton's.

I think you are right and the sound is very passable on the Triton: would like to replicate it, including adding drawbars/harmonics via the 4 knobs as the guy does on the video.(but I don't know how to)
Also, his sound is fat, ballsy and can't replicate that on the M50.

The video I'm talking about on Youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34o-ST1kcFY

The problem with Korg romplers (organs) is that everything seems fine until you hit the last upper A or C with the Leslie on Tremolo (fast) and single notes (and chords) sound SO thin and plasticly...

I was also looking at this Triton example on youtube:

I don't know about the LE, but the Triton Extreme has a lot more ROM organ samples than the M50 (including 11 that are unique to the Extreme that show up in the New2 ROM bank). I keep trying to like the M50, but for less money the Extreme still seems to be a much better value.

There are several videos there: which one should I be looking for?

oh...he has a page with "Korg Workstations and Synths" videos...there's one for the Triton (3rd from the top). The organ I'm referring to is a couple of minutes into the video. Let me know if you can't find it.

Ehm... no, I'm thinking but I'm not able to recall something related to this :3dread: . Has it some connection with the leslie of the Kurz PC3?

*** EDIT EDIT: I've seen the thread, ok ok :D Anyway, it's not the organs... even if the KB3 emulation of the Kurz it's... yeah! 8)
Now I stop or I think I will be gently banned from that forum :P (which I like a lot)

Found it and I will be very happy with that sound and sim starting at 1:40. It's odd that being the M50 EDS and all the BS and hype about how great the new engine sounds, it doesn't have that timbre / effect at all or, am I missing something with the M50?

Extreme was a flagship workstation, it's build, featured and sounds like one.

M50 is a budget workstation, sounds kindly a big one, but is cheapy in many other departments.

The Tritons (especially the Extreme) had a LOT of cool things in wave ROM that the M3 and M50 do not. I've got the two lists in front of me and have been looking at them for the past couple of hours. The M series seems like an attempt to answer for the lack of "realistic" sounding instruments (i.e., piano & guitar) in the Korg workstations from the past. It really depends on what you need I guess. I have those areas covered in my Fantom G so I'm looking for the Triton's synth sounds (which I was hoping to find in the M50 because it's so lightweight). I'm also carrying a VK-8M organ module around right now for a couple of songs. If the Extreme could cover me there, it would be the best of both worlds.

That may be true of the M50-61 and M50-73, but I don't think it's a fair assessment of the M50-88, which really does not feel cheap to me (especially because of its outstanding RH3 keybed, the same one as on the M3).
