Let us assembly some more parts and then you can see the all new pictures.
Hello Sir`s,

I´am an OASYS user from the first hour and I´am very interested on your new products. Is it possible that we can load in your machine KARO sample libraries! I no there are special libraries for the OASYS.

Best wishes,

Oasys76
Hi oasys76.

I will invite KARO into the discussion to see if we can simply peak their interest on the possibilities here. The Lionstracs products are running on a universal file format (giga files), so KARO should see the opportunity here in making their OASYS libraries into a universal format. A universal format means WAY more potential customers.

It is very easy to convert the OASYS data to Giga Format using tools like Extreme Sample Converter, or if they want to convert the RAW data without resampling, they can use Awave Studio.

That said, I bet KARO have the source files in a universal foramt already.

Regards
Sharp.

http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dfzz98xt_45cnk2wvfj#

After this complete implementation we will include the AKAI format too.

James... you get the new pictures of the 4 GROOVE models....let me know

I sure did and I giggled like a little school girl at them. They look seriously cool....!!!!!! 8)

Being the practical sort of guy I am, I have to comment on the fact that I can read the text on the buttons (mainly the right hand side of one keyboard) in the photo's and what really jumps out at me is the huge amount of real-time control.

If I was to take a Open Labs Neko for example and use that to compare against, in all the video's I've seen of the Neko and my own hands on, the operator has to return to the Touch Pad for the majority of control. This can be slow and in many cases requires considerable setups to get some good level of live control over the VSTi your running. Information is also buried under screen layers and setups.

Where on the Lionstracs Groove the amount of visual reference you have from the control panel alone is amazing. Dedicated buttons to access the different ASIO hosts, sounds, effects, media players, controllers... and more without even having to look at the screen or control anything from it. No messing around and quick direct access to a large array of functions.

I imagine this makes for a very productive instrument and for anyone in a live situation there should be no fooling around on stage. Straight up access with tons of dedicated buttons and controls displaying all current modes.

Regards
James.

I think you can not load the KARO Oasys library on our system.
We have the Linuxsampler Streaming system, GIGASTUDIO 2.0, 3.0 format.
In our products are already installed about 30 Gb of GIGA Studio sounds:
http://www.lionstracs.com/store/-c-158.html

and you can still load unlimited Giga sounds library, including the Steinway D grand, 1800Mb for ONE Piano sounds, Bosendorfer 290, 980 Mb file..and so on.
On Linuxsampler this BIG files are ready to play in about 4-6 seconds.
Giga sounds around 100-200 Mb are ready to play is about 1 second.

maybe is better that you ask to KARO to converting the all Oasys library under Gigastudio.
( we use also Extreme sampler converter for clone any sounds, VST and hardware..)
let me know
Hello again,

Thank you for answering my question.
Today I speak with the KARO guys and they tell me, that they are in contact with you :-) But It`s not so easy to translate the sounds! Into the KARO soundlibs there are a lot of programing on the oasys, like vel switches EQ... Also into the Combi mode of the OASYS you can have up to 16 programs in 1 Combi. Maybe they must resample all the libs.

Now a question for you LIONTRACS

Do you no how much OASYS are sold worlwide? 3000 -4000 pieces, but for KORG is this market not so interesting. They sale a lot more M3, M50...
I`am shure your product is an O KILLER and it looks pretty cool! :-))
Akai loading is an fantastic Idea but listen one time to the KARO libraries.
This is for 2009 an absolutly high resolution sample library...
My Idea.., when you can make that the Groove loads OASYS sample libs lieke KARO and Sharp then I`am shure you are the absolutly winner into the market after Korg OASYS is discontinued!

Thank you,

Oasys76

Hi Oasys76

I have talk with my linuxsampler developers..they told me that all by software is possible but need a lot of time.
First if is possible, we need to know more about the Oasys sampler system and if is available some documentation how the all files are organized.
We need also some small samples program to see and read how they have merged the all system files.

If someone there can help with this all information I will forward to my developers.

here one new update pictures..are NOT full complete assembled, but you can get the idea...

My 2 Cents.... it's not worth pursuing.

Not even KORG retain compatibility between their own keyboards that have different sound engines. Even if you could somehow decode the PCG file, it would be impossible to reproduce the effects of the OASYS HD-1 engine on it.

The RAW sample data (including multisamples setups) on the other hand can be converted using a simple app like AWAVE STUDIO. So it possible to do a straight conversion to Giga Format of that data, but you don't get the shaping of the HD-1 engine.

So for existing OASYS libraries the only practical way to load them into a Lionstracs keyboard is for the actual sound designers who made the libraries to use resampling. Extreme Sample Converter will auto sample and auto loop the sounds to Giga Format. So it's only a matter of finding the optimal velocities and keyzones to samples per sound. That can be saved as a template too.

I'll do some tests later today to verify the procedure on my OASYS ASSAULT library and post a demo of the OASYS and something like my V-Machine playing the same sound in Giga File Format.

Regards
Sharp.

Black will always give that classic look I think. Since the Trinity I got used to Silver and Gold coloured keyboards, then came my OASYS and it was back to black again. There's just something about it that makes the keyboard seem so much more serious and more work horse than plaything. Even the M3 I modelled in Black looked better I thought than the original white.

The Lionstracs Groove should look pretty serious when powered up with all those lights under the buttons and the contrast between that and the body. The angle of the photo doesn't do it a lot of justice right now because you can't see the control panel.

I think this one gives a better view.

The red one on the end looks pretty cool too for anyone not into black.

Hi Guys from Lionstracs,

you are still in contact with KARO`s :-)
Another question.... The new Vienna VST Library. Is the Groovestation able to read that VST?

Cheers,

Hi Oasys
Yes, I'm now in full contact with Kurt ( KARO) and he will try to convert the Oasys library under Gigastudio 3.0 format too.

About the Vienna VST..I saw the GUI shoot...seem a simple interface like the Omnisphere: Image

I never tested, but I think the www.winehq.org is able to running up this interface too.
If is available one demo version I can try to install on our system and report if all is working fine.
( with 10 Multiple ASIO Hosts server in realtime will be really nice to use the ASIO Vienna too)
Let me know
