calibration

Post by rudolfck »

1. How do you recalibrate the system - screen, controller ranges etc.? Does anyone have access to that procedure or know how to get it? I think I read from Dan before that the recommended procedure is to return the OASYS to a dealer for this to be done but given the OASYS is end of lifed and all are out of warranty, it would be great to get this document so we could do it ourselves.

I have the pdf file for that.

Hello Kevin, Akos, just sent me a PM with
an email address and I will mail it with some extra instructions. Think it may as well be available on some download section on this forum

Hi Rudolf -

thanks for the offer to send the pdf document - really appreciated.

I tried to PM you half a dozen times but the forum PM mailer keeps failing on me.

My email address is in my signiture below.

I'll be happy to pay you an appropriate fee for this via Paypal - I genuinely mean that. Let me know by email and I can then respond to you.

best regards,
Kevin

Hi Rudolf, thank you very much for the PDF. It's good to have it, just in case.

(For the curious: it contains a usual process with easy basic steps of calibration. Similar procedures exist in other synths.)

Hi everybody,

To answer the initial question:
- yes you can replace the harddisk of your OASYS. You can even replace it with a bigger one and use the extra space on your OASYS.
- you do not need to clone your harddisk for backup reasons. But you do need the right set of installation disk to reinstall on a new harddisk, and of course you need to back up the user data (can be done easily by copying to a USB external drive)
- replacing the harddisk and reinstalling the system is possible (I've done it myself) but is very tricky. You can find more details in this post: http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthre ... 506&page=2
