OK, Tech support say they're sometimes seeing this happening and don't know why. I've been told that Korg may amend the firmware if that's at fault and may make it available. I really don't like being at the mercy of such vagueness.

Can I just get an acknowledgment from KPRO owners here who have managed to See the "KAOSSILATOR PRO" appear in the KORG MIDI Driver Setup Utility (shown at the front of the screen-shot above) and successfully installed the Korg driver... your OS, country and SN might reveal something useful. TIA.

If I go to my KORG USB-MIDI Driver :-

User mode driver : 1.12.00.16
Kernel mode driver : N/A

Hmmm if I go to KORG MIDI driver setup I get

ERROR: No device is plugged in.

It did work at one point, but I've installed keyboard drivers since. When it did work it showed the KPro in Midi1, I didn't go any further as I'm afraid KORG's software will uninstall the device and then problems would ensue...

As a note to you :-

I've no idea how to setup midi devices, but I did manage to use the XY controller to jot notes down in Reaper. So I am deffo not the right person to advise or help, sorry.

BTW - I noticed that the PC MIDI driver from the UK Korg site states it's for Vista and Win 7 but doesn't mention XP or XP-Pro. :?:

Hi

1.12 will work on XP but we list it under Windows 7 as most people are asking for a driver for that OS at the moment.

Where exactly are you going to get that info? When the Korg drivers aren't installed you get the following nag screen whenever you try to use the editor...

Do you get that or not? If I ignore that warning, some editor functions work - I can receive loop bank data for example, but it always sends garbage when I try to transmit it back (giving a connection time-out error at the end of the transfer).

It's from the configure KORG USB-MIDI DRIVER, seperate program to the install one.

No I don't get any errors upon loading KPro editor, it just works, maybe it's to do with me running Win7!

My setup is :-

Win 7 Pro (64bit)
I'm using an internal soundcard

don't know what else to add...

!!! Check "System EX" in the Editor!!!( the button must light up)

It must be checked on. When u have once sent the off message to the hardware...its off.

Send an "on" message with the editor.

---I haven't read all here---

..Sorry..i just read the topic complete..again..not just pics.

I'm getting the "Error: No device is plugged in" message. :(

The Windows drivers install when I plugged it in but when I try to install the Korg ones, I just get this message.

I don't know what to do...

I've had similar problems with my KP3 today, turns out I'd inadvertently disabled SYSEX in midi settings on the KP3, the thing wouldn't connect to the editor, I fannied about for ages until I spotted the setting, enabled it and all is well, I don't know if the KoPro has a similar setting.

They seem to have updated the driver for the KPro now and it has worked.

Hoooooraaaay!

That's probably because I just arranged to return my KPRO. Pity notification of this "update" didn't make it through tech support. Anyway, that's fixed it for me as well - thanks for the heads-up Mr36 :D

You're welcome, Mr. Radian.

Are you still returning it then?

I,m having the same issues with my KP3 as well as my KoPro. I got some features to work but not all. I get an error saying that i need to download the driver...well I did that like twice.

I got part way thru with what I wanted so I'm ok for now. But I do not have the full benifits of the software. I only have control over global midi settings.

I'm pretty sure (though not completely) that the readme or some such file that I read in conjunction with this said that it would work with XP...
