you and me both, I hate flashing electrical goods, always concerned there will be a power strike or something stupid!

I also believe in the "if it ain't broke" rule too, so I doubt this firmware will fix anything for me.

But Korg really need to let people know what is on offer! They need to set up a mailing list of sorts, I would offer my email address for a monthly update as to what is going on, if it includes firmware information, and what I'm interested in.

I wish Korg were affiliated with this forum, they might actually communicate with us end users then.

Inside the updater you'll find a PDF which describes the bugfix in non-googlish english.

That's odd, I thought I'll take a peek, downloaded it, not applied the patch but to read the PDF and mine was in Japanese! Still none the wiser...

Lack of communication really bugs, most of us have invested in said product, at least they could communicate!

Same here! I looked for the PDF info and ended up "Turning Japanese" (alright, there's my sense of humor). Any who... Enough with the mystery...if someone has clear info, please post it instead of telling the rest of us we didn't look hard enough

So for now a review on the up-date would be nice.

Hey, inbetween; can you help us out here with this...at least tell us what it actually fixes? Thanks a head of time.[/quote]

sorry I just wanted to be friendly & positive - because its good that they are actually updating the system, but to be honest this scale issue didn't bother me at all. so lets hope for the future for a real update!
i already read about the same sync problem with the kp3 - but this is no excuse. I mean it can't be that difficult - first to include start/stop and second a midi sync that doesnt drift. midi-sync does work 100% with ableton sample loops.
so what sense does this midi sync have here at all?

sync that is not in sync is simply a bug!

ahhrggg this could be such a great machine!

The pdf just says the following with reference to what this update does:
In some programs, the actual octave range differed from the specified "NOTE RANGE" setting. This has been fixed."

Okay!?!?! Thanks Korg...I guess

We can all agree that after 2 weeks of in store release, Korg's at least trying...something to keep on top of their new product.

Yahhh, I think I'll wait for a much bigger update before I upgrade the firmware.

Fixes?

Post by T-Dog »

Okay, I know I'm gonna sound ignorant but, how would a person apply a fix to the Kaossilator Pro? Is it via the Korg website link, loaded onto and, applied by a SD card or something?

If you're not entirely sure, I'd wait for the firmware update to be released in English (or at least from Korg USA).
There will be a set of instructions with it. Or you can download the Mac update as well as the Windows one (assuming you're using Windows) and there is an English set of instructions included there, which you should be able to roughly follow for the Windows one.

And it is done via USB.

I've done the update with the mac via usb cable, it was super easy to do!

I have the English PDF for the Windows Update, I uploaded it here:

Yeah, this firmware upgrade was very easy and the readme file in the update folders contents was absolutely the best readme set of instructions I've ever used.

Switch to the Dowloads-TAB!

http://www.korg.com/SupportResults.aspx?productid=564

And it seems the KPro-Manual is overworked either!
