I think it is possible to use a midi controller to simulate a pad press.

Yes. Although only with a bit of programming.
Of course you can just connect a MIDI controller to play it like you would with the M50's own keyboard
But:
If you set the MIDI controller to a different channel though, then in Combi mode you can set certain timbres (programs) in the combi to respond to that MIDI channel, then they will be played by the controller and the rest by the M50's keyboard.

is this covered in the m50's manual? or do you have something you can link me to?Yes. Although only with a bit of programming.
right. This is what i want. to be able to play both at the same time, but each playing different sounds. like having two M50's.Of course you can just connect a MIDI controller to play it like you would with the M50's own keyboard
basically, what i just said above right? like having two M50'sIf you set the MIDI controller to a different channel though, then in Combi mode you can set certain timbres (programs) in the combi to respond to that MIDI channel, then they will be played by the controller and the rest by the M50's keyboard
Of course is possible, I use the M50 that way.
You need to create some new combi, or edit one in order to play M5O sounds with another keyboard.
You simply need to choose some COMBI, and then set midi channel 2 for the sound you like to play with the controller, leaving midi channel 1 for the sound you like to play with M50 keybed. Make sure your controller is working on midi channel 2.
Yes, in some way it`´s like having two M50.
Good luck!
