AFAWK the distributors are aware of this problem, so you can try and contact the Korg Distributor of your contry or state diretly.michelkeijzers wrote:Maybe an email to your local distributor (or store who can help you).aron wrote:Do you need to do anything to get the wheel? FYI: The knob on my 88 just liberated itself (Serial #122). So I get to learn how quick Korg USA will get me the upgraded knob. I'm grateful to all of you for the discussion of the problem here - I don't have to be frustrated - I just have to get the fixed part.Gargamel314 wrote: ...I wonder if the 73 and the 88 will have the same problem... at least it's a simple problem like the data wheel and not something major like the USB jacks not being quite the right size. They'll prob do what they did with the M3's pads and buttons and just send out new ones. It is kinda amusing though, if you think about it... the most technologically advanced commercial synthesizer workstation in the world and it's biggest fault is a physical knob that won't stay on.
When I called Korg USA, I think it was less than a week through the USPS.
New Data Wheel = Problem solved.

Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha).
I was at the local GC.
They had a Kronos 61.
It was sitting right below a Motif XF 61.
Build quality,knobs...etc felt inferior on the Kronos imo.
People who own the Oasys currently should not try to compare it to the Kronos as far as the built quality.
The Oasys is built like a tank.
The Kronos has many merits. Lower cost, fantastic sounds.
Appreciate it for that alone.

The data will be replaced by Korg. When I tested the 73 I really have not any problem with any of the knobs; I did not compare them to a Yamaha but I have several Korgs, both high/low end and never had any problems with build quality of knobs etc.minnkorg wrote:I was at the local GC.

I assume we are talking about the Value dial? I don't use mine much (never used it much on the Triton), so it might take a while for me to experience this problem.

I don't use mine a lot either and it took a couple of months before mine worked it's way off. Korg USA was notified of the problem on a Monday morning and I had the new dial in Thursday's mail.ronnfigg wrote:I assume we are talking about the Value dial? I'm in complete agreement. When I opened my Kronos, it was held together with Chicken Wire and bubble gum - NO SCREWS. Some of my buttons were Chicklets colored black with a marker!GregC wrote:LOLoutjet wrote:Between this and the other posts such as the loose bottom panel, I think I'm going to wait a few more months and hope they make some adjustments at the plant.
Sadly, when we pay the highest price for the newest board, we often end up with the lowest quality.
not this again.
